Jon Pardi Cancels Two ‘Gamblin’ Man Tour’ Dates Due To Illness: “News I Don’t Like Giving”

Jon Pardi

Jon Pardi had to make the tough decision to postpone a couple of his Gamblin’ Man Tour dates.

The “Mr. Saturday Night” singer, who has proudly remained one of the last traditionalists in mainstream country over the years, has been known to give it his all during his energetic concerts. It’s that very reason that he’s actually pulling the plug on a couple of concert dates – at least for now – as he battles an illness.

The country star with plenty of No. 1 hits to his name (like “Head Over Boots” and “Heartache on the Dancefloor”) took to social media earlier today to inform his fans that he’s postponing two concert dates that were set for this weekend (October 2 and October 3).

Pardi says he played through the sickness last night in Wilmington, North Carolina, but won’t be able to do the same in Macon, Georgia and Biloxi, Mississippi:

“This is news I don’t like giving. Unfortunately, I’m gonna have to reschedule Macon, Georgia and Biloxi, Mississippi this weekend. I’m very sick and I’m not 100%. I got through Wilmington, North Carolina last night, squeaking by, and I sang good but I gave it all I had.

I want to be 100% for everybody. So I apologize. I know you probably got hotels, babysitters, and I want to get the news out as soon as possible to not have you guys drive everywhere. Just know I love you guys, and I just want to be 100%. I don’t want to be up there struggling, sick, coughing on stage and blowing my nose. I appreciate all of you, and thanks for the understanding.”

A day-0f cancelation is tough, but like Pardi said… he tried to put the word out as soon as he could. The country singer likely got off the stage late in North Carolina, and was seeing if he’d recover enough today to still go through with the weekend dates. Evidently, the best course of action was to postpone:

“All tickets for Macon and Biloxi will be honored at new dates to be announced or refunds available at point of purchase. More information coming soon. I hate to do this but we will see you soon.”

Canceling tour dates is never fun. You can tell that Jon Pardi didn’t want to deliver the news, but if he feels like he can’t put on the show he and his fans are accustomed to, you can’t blame him for wanting to postpone.

Fans in the comment section are understandably upset (especially those who were already on the road to see him in Macon, Georgia tonight), but they’re also wishing him a speedy recovery. The good news is that Pardi plans to reschedule the two shows… and there are still plenty of other dates along the Gamblin’ Man Tour to catch.
