The Green Bay Packers haven’t had the start to the season they were hoping for… but this NFL fan can take comfort in knowing that her favorite NFL team gifted her with 15 minutes of fame.
There weren’t many positives for Packers fans to take away from Thursday Night’s matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. The famous NFL franchise was at home at Lambeau Field, and favored to win over a Falcons team that, prior to Thursday Night Football, had not run a play in the red zone through the first two weeks of the season.
Needless to say, the game didn’t play out how many thought that it would.
The Dirty Birds came into Lambeau and took it to the Packers, leaving a frustrated Green Bay fanbase stunned and frustrated. One fan in particular was even driven to check her own pulse, and the camera man just so happened to catch the moment on camera. That led to yet another instance of a fan in the crowd going viral online:

That Packers fan had everyone tuned into the game laughing and pointing at their TV, and perfectly encapsulated how a lot of Packers fans are feeling right now. And hilariously, she was tracked down by a local news station a bit after she went viral, and was eventually identified as an Arizona resident – who loves the Packers – named Maddie Clark.
Clark has been really reveling in the fact that she went viral, and when WLUK-TV asked her about the pulse check moment, she explained that it’s a little bit she’s always done that just so happened to make it on the broadcast:
“It was Tucker Kraft’s second drop in a row, and I do this little bit when I have a minor inconvenience happen and I put my fingers up to my neck to check my pulse.
I was just doing it to kind of relieve my own stress and make my dad laugh and make myself giggle in such a hard time for us Cheese Heads. I apparently made the rest of American giggle as well.”
Lord knows the Packers need something to laugh about right now.
Because she went viral, and because no one knew her name initially, the internet provided her with a name to match the instant meme she became. Clark is embracing it:
“I’m pulse girl.”
She’ll be known as the pulse girl for the rest of her life.
Clark let the local news station know that it didn’t take long for her to find out she was going viral. In fact, just a couple of minutes after she was shown on the Amazon Prime broadcast, someone behind her in the crowd gave her a heads up:
“Within minutes (I found out I was going viral). It was someone sitting behind me, they tapped me on the shoulder and said, ‘Hey, just so you know, everyone in America just saw you on the game right now.’
And I was like, ‘Oh, that’s cool!’ Just assuming it’s just me being a fan in the stands. She said, ‘You might want to check.'”
Again, not much for Packers fans to be excited about through three weeks of the NFL season… but at least they can claim the first, big crowd-born-meme of the year.
