Morgan Wallen Is The Most Played Artist On Country Radio This Year, But The Rest Of The Top 10 Is Pretty Shocking

The domination continues.

In the midst of the I’m The Problem Tour this past weekend in Cleveland, Ohio, which saw surprise appearances from both Kid Rock and Browns superstar edge rusher, Myles Garrett, Morgan Wallen received yet another notch under his belt as he continues his streak of what can only be described as total domination over country music.

According to U.S. Radio Updater, a prominent, award-winning radio chart tracker, Wallen was not only named the most-played artist on country radio so far in 2025 but also claims the most-played song with “Love Somebody” taking the top spot.

The top 10 most-played artists on country radio are as follows:

  1. Morgan Wallen
  2. Jelly Roll
  3. Luke Combs
  4. Jason Aldean
  5. Post Malone
  6. Luke Bryan
  7. Sam Hunt
  8. Jordan Davis
  9. Bailey Zimmerman
  10. Blake Shelton

As for most-played songs, Wallen owns two of the top 10, with “I’m The Problem” also slotting in at the #5 spot.

  1. “Love Somebody” – Morgan Wallen
  2. “Liar” – Jelly Roll
  3. “High Road” – Koe Wetzel & Jessie Murph
  4. “Hometown Home” – LOCASH
  5. “I’m The Problem” – Morgan Wallen
  6. “Whiskey Drink” – Jason Aldean
  7. “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” – Shaboozey
  8. Pour Me A Drink – Post Malone & Blake Shelton
  9. “I Ain’t Sayin'” – Jordan Davis
  10. “Friends Like That” – John Morgan & Jason Aldean

There’s a lot that can be said about the quality (or lack thereof) across the board on both of these top 10 entries. I mean, seriously, how is “Hometown Home” the #4 country song and Sam Hunt still in the top 10 most-played artists? Couple that with the fact that names like Jordan Davis, Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean still remain on these lists despite dwindling success on streaming and social media in general, and you have a list that seems quite out of touch. With that being said, we know at this point that country radio has faded into obscurity with the prominence of both streaming and social media.

One thing we can take away from this, however, is just how much of a stronghold Wallen has on the genre at large. It doesn’t matter if it’s streaming, social media or even country radio, if it has a chart, he’s going to dominate it.

The announcement of the “Last Night” singer being the most-played artist on country radio comes off the heels of I’m The Problem spending its 11th non-consecutive week at #1 on the Billboard 200 this week, which is the most weeks spent at #1 for any album this year. Couple that with him recently being named the most-played artist on the newly-formed TouchTunes chart, breaking his own record for most songs charted in a single week on the Billboard 100 (37) back in May, becoming the first artist ever to spend at least 10 weeks at #1 with three consecutive albums and selling out stadiums each and every night on the I’m The Problem Tour, and you have what may end up being the most successful year we’ve ever seen from a country artist.

As I’ve said before, you can dislike nearly everything about Wallen, from the pop/rap influences, the off-stage antics and his past history of controversies. One thing that you cannot deny, however, is his continued domination of both the genre and music at large.
