Ready to throw down right in the middle of the show.
Gavin Adcock was in Anderson, South Carolina for Rock the Country weekend, which also happened to feature Nickelback as the headliner later on in the evening. But apparently there’s no love lost between the two camps after a member of the rock band’s team apparently tried to have the father of country music’s wild child removed from his own son’s show.
It’s not clear what exactly happened, but according a video posted by Gavin, Nickelback’s sound guy confronted his dad and tried to have him kicked out of the show:
“My family had been standing there for 17 songs. I watched them the whole show, not causing any problems. You come up and get in my family’s face, trying to get my dad kicked out? And you know what, I got you kicked out. The police drug you out on top of your head you bum. Congratulations dude, Nickelback’s sound guy’s a real winner.”
@gavinadcockmusic Give it up for him
Video of the incident shows Gavin running off the stage to confront the man himself:
“Hey, let me tell you something real quick.”
Somebody, who may be Gavin’s dad, can be heard with some choice words for the man too:
“That motherf—er right there, I’m gonna kick his f—ing a–.”
And Gavin then addressed the sound guy himself:
“Hey buddy, you’re gonna lose your god–mn job you stupid a– bum, you better f–k off back there.”
He then made his way back to the stage, where he explained to the crowd what had just gone down:
“That was my daddy right there, and that f—ing stupid f—er in the backwards hat right there was giving him a hard time, so f–k you, f—er. When I get done with this set I’m gonna come out there and give you a piece of my mind, you piece of s–t.”

And a little later on in the show, he still wasn’t finished letting the guy have it:
“Get his f—ing name, I will f—ing kick his a–.”
That’s what you call standing on business.
Of course Gavin has never really been one to mince words or hold back when it comes to standing up for what he believes in. In fact, he recently called out Zach Bryan over the country music superstar’s reaction to a fan who wanted to meet him.
The “Something In The Orange” singer just recently finished up a three-night run with Kings of Leon at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. And after the shows, some fans waited in the area where artists typically leave for four hours after the show, hoping that they would get to meet Zach, or even get a glimpse of the artist.
Unfortunately for them, it seems that on night two of the 3-night run, he wasn’t in the mood to greet his fans, and jetted out of there without engaging with those waiting outside the MetLife Stadium exit. And to make matters worse for them, he stopped to chat and take pictures with fans on night 1 AND night 3…
The caption for the TikTok reads:
“Zach Bryan driving away from his fans that waited four hours to meet him. He didn’t even roll down his window to say hi.”
@ilovesparklyunicorns24 we waited until 4:00 AM. #fyp #zachbryan #metlife #viral ♬ oh my god bruh oh hell na man
She shared another one with the title “Cancel Zach Bryan,” and a caption that read:
“We waited 3 hours outside to meet Zach Bryan and he completely blew everyone off and drove away like a jerk, meanwhile he got out of his car to meet fans Metlife N1”
Tough scene… and if you know anything about Zach, you know where this story is going.
Sure enough, Zach Bryan caught wind of this criticism and fired back a reply to this fan that had posted this clip criticizing him. The artist, who had just wrapped up three-straight nights of shows, told the TikToker that waiting by the exit of a stadium doesn’t guarantee them anything:
“You’re not entitled after someone plays two and a half hours to a picture or a hello. Get off my d***.”

Zach later replied in the comments section with another message:
“I went out and took pictures both night one and three. I had a third show the next day and it was late, needed to rest.”

Well to make matters worse, the fan was only 14 years old. Probably not a fan anymore…
The replies on the video were pretty divided, with some agreeing with Zach that he doesn’t owe fans anything, and others defending the fan for hoping to get the opportunity to meet him. But pretty much everybody at least agreed that his response was pretty harsh to be directed at a 14 year old.
And after the story began making its rounds, another country singer took to social media to criticize Zach Bryan for his treatment of his own fans.
Gavin Adcock called out Zach for forgetting that the fans are the reason that they get to do what they do in the first place:
“If you can’t handle the criticism of a 14 year old why do people idolize you?
That kid was head over heels to meet you and spent/ parents spent a ton of money to see you. He’s got feeling too and a you’re a “grown man” nearly 30
They’re the only reason you are around.”
Of course I think the biggest problem here is Zach’s reaction to the whole thing. If he had just ignored it, or issued a more polite response, it would pretty much be a non-story. And to be fair, the girl who posted the video was clearly hoping for a reaction…because she’s 14-years old, and that’s what 14 year olds do. Zach is a grown man, and one with a big platform, so you’d expect him to handle himself a little better than a teenager.
He’s of course right that artists don’t owe fans a picture, or a meeting, or anything like that. They’re people and have their own lives. But at the same time, snapping at a 14-year old and telling her to “get off your” junk probably isn’t the way to handle it either.
