Cruel and unusual fantasy football punishment.
That’s what it’s all about, right? When you sign up for your fantasy football league full of friends or family (or both), you aren’t trying to win. You are just trying to not lose. Especially if there’s a last place punishment involved. It typically doesn’t get more humiliating than having one random draft day in August determine the next couple months of your life, and ultimately lead you to a last place punishment.
We’ve seen some incredibly creative fantasy football loser penalties in the past couple of years. Probably none more crazy than a guy having to spend 24 hours in a Waffle House, and being able to knock an hour off with every waffle that he ate. As the saying goes, if you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen (don’t play fantasy football if you can’t handle the last place punishment).
It might be fantasy football, but the last place retribution is very much real.
And I’d like to shine on a spotlight on this one that’s currently going viral online. The premise is somewhat similar to the Waffle House one, but requires a bit more skill than just sitting down at the house of waffles for a long period of time. This league decided that whoever came in last place had to go to a bowling alley and complete a very simple, straightforward task: Bowl a perfect game.
There were some alleviations that the bowler could practice to make bowling a 300 a bit easier, and I’ll let the guy explain how that portion works in his own words:
“Finished in last place in my Dynasty Fantasy Football league. This year, the league voted that the last place punishment would be ‘Bowling a Perfect Game.’ The rules: You can’t leave until you bowl a 300, but every beer/hot dog consumed knocks off 10 pins. Thing is, I’m not a great bowler. I am, however, quite good at slamming beers. Stay tuned to witness history.”

Though if you do the math on the rules of the punishment, 10 beers and 10 dot dogs would only require the loser to bowl over 100. That seems pretty doable, especially if you end up being there for an extended period of time. Some people online were talking about how difficult the “Perfect Game” punishment would be, while others suggested that it sounded like just another night at the bowling alley:
