I’m sorry… Chick-Fil-A is doing WHAT?
Like their signature chicken item, my brain is fried trying to understand this move by the fast food franchise. After double checking the news multiple times, I can somehow cautiously confirm that this absurd headline is true. Even though it makes no sense at all.
Chick-Fil-A appears to be getting into the streaming service competition.
Chick-Fil-A is moving into the entertainment space with plans to launch a slate of TV shows for its own streaming platform.

Netflix, Hulu, MAX… and Chick-Fil-A.
While you pinch yourself to make sure that you aren’t having some sort of strange fever dream, I’ll continue on by saying that Deadline first reported the news that the brand known for their chicken and crazy-efficient-drive-thru-lanes is deciding to dip their toes into the entertainment space:
“Deadline understands that Chick-Fil-A has been working with a number of major production companies, including some of the studios, to create family-friendly shows, particularly in the unscripted space.”
Reality TV?
EXCLUSIVE: Deadline understands that Chick-Fil-A has been working with a number of major production companies, including some of the studios, to create family-friendly shows, particularly in the unscripted space.

This is just absurd.
I don’t see the Chick-Fil-A streaming service having a high subscriber rate, but who knows? Everything else they slap their name on tends to be done well, so this business expansion could be a smart pivot. I can’t wait to see all of the other fast food chains follow suit and create their own streaming services (*SARCASM*).
Other than asking if the streaming service would be accessible on Sundays, social media has entered into a head-scratching frenzy about the news. Some are simply asking, “Why?” while others are taking the opportunity to spread Chick-Fil-A streaming service memes:
I was just saying the other day how I wished Chick-Fil-A would start its own streaming platform. Incredible. https://t.co/lPnKKwyb54

“We’re competing with restaurants now, Lemon. Chick-fil-A won’t be the last. Sebastian Maniscalco is hosting a variety show for Arby’s. It streams only at participating drive-thru windows. They’re paying him in Beef ‘N Cheddars and launching a Horsey Sauce-scented cologne.” https://t.co/R4CAYCsRtl pic.twitter.com/r39asv7wI8

That last one is somewhat of an inside joke for 30 Rock fans. If you’ve watched the show, this whole story and headline is something that would be straight out of one of their scripts. We are living in a strange, sitcom-like time people…
And the news is a little reminiscent of this Saturday Night Live skit that pokes fun at everyone trying to get in on everything:
