John Daly Finds New Masters Week Home After Demolition of Iconic Hooter’s Location in Augusta

John Daly

For those out there who were losing sleep over this… I’m happy to share that John Daly once again has a safe haven where he’ll set up shop during Masters Week.

Golf fans know that, for years, the great John Daly planted his Masters week roots (A.K.A. parked his RV) at the Augusta, Georgia Hooters… but that’s not an option for 60-year-old anymore. Much of the golfing world was devastated to hear that the Hooters location in Augusta, Georgia – which used to sit just a mile away from the hallowed grounds of Augusta National Golf Club – was demolished back in November of 2025.

The restaurant had been shut down in July of that year, and not even four months later, was bulldozed. It was a horrific sight to see.

When it closed, and was eventually torn down months later, golf fans were left wondering if John Daly would have to abandon his yearly routine. After all, the Hooters was his safe haven, and with it no longer being there, where would the golfer park his mobile home/merchandise mover? And would he still even bother traveling to Augusta for his annual visit?

The good news is that, earlier this year, John Daly still traveled to Augusta, Georgia during the week of the Masters. 2026 ended up being a bit of a trial run for the professional golfer, as he tried out a couple of different places to see if he could recreate the magic elsewhere. One of those places ended up being the Augusta Topgolf location, and according to a new press release from the golf entertainment company, that’s where Daly will be for at least the next two Masters tournaments.

Daly and Topgolf have entered into a multi-year partnership, and part of the deal includes his presence at their Augusta location for the 2027 and 2028 Masters:

“Daly will also make appearances at Topgolf in Augusta, Georgia during the first major of the year in 2027 and 2028. More details to come early next year on a major new event announcement for Topgolf and John Daly fans.”

Good to know that John Daly has found himself a more permanent spot for Masters Week. If you ask me, that was one of the biggest question marks in the entire world of golf. So I’m glad it’s all settled.

And I’m sure Daly is too. Though it’s a “tradition unlike any other” in its own right, the professional golfer typically makes a pretty penny for himself when he sets up his merchandise booth during Masters week.

According to ESPN, the major championship winner raked in $780,000 in 2024 selling various items like signed golf balls and specialized John Daly shirts and hats. The golf balls go for $10 a pop, and Daly charges $40 per hat. High prices, sure, but people are always lined up to a) buy the stuff and b) meet the living legend.

Now Daly’s got a partnership with Topgolf too that will keep the money flowing into his pockets… he’s cracked the code on how to make hundreds of thousands of dollars during Masters Week without actually playing in the storied tournament itself.
