Won’t want to miss this.
Recently, it seems as if country music and rodeo festivals have gotten better each and every year. And while there’s some undoubtedly stiff competition, there’s no denying that The Hondo Rodeo Fest has consistently given fans some of the best country music and rodeo has to offer. Combining the ever-popular world of rodeo, complete with bull riding, barrel racing, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, multiple roping events and many more events, with live music, Hondo has been consistently booking some of the most exciting acts in country music in their limited time so far.
Though they’ve only been hosting events since 2024, Hondo has already pulled off some truly impressive music lineups featuring the likes of Cody Johnson, Riley Green, Treaty Oak Revival, Jon Pardi, Jason Aldean, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Nickleback and more.
It’s become incredibly clear that the impressive music lineups and stellar, hand-picked cast of rodeo stars have paid dividends for Hondo. After debuting in Phoenix, Arizona, in 2024 and once again returning in 2025, the event has now expanded to multiple dates across the country heading into 2027.
They already have a stop planned next year in Tampa, Florida, at Raymond James Stadium on February 26-28, featuring the likes of Cody Johnson, The Red Clay Strays, Dexter and the Moonrocks, Jon Pardi and more. Before that takes place, however, Hondo has its third annual event in Phoenix this November, and it’s one of the best music lineups I’ve seen in quite some time, especially for a rodeo.
Taking place from Friday, November 13th to Sunday, November 15th, Hondo Rodeo is once again packing a major punch in their three nights at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona. This time around, they’re calling on the likes of Tim McGraw, Blake Shelton and Parker McCollum as primary headliners, with Miranda Lambert, Turnpike Troubadours and Lynyrd Skynyrd serving as sub headliners.
It should go without saying that McGraw, Shelton and Lambert have been three of the biggest stars in the genre for the better part of two decades at this point, with McGraw recently being inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, Shelton cementing himself as one of the all-time #1 hit leaders in the genre with smashes like “Austin,” “God’s Country,” and “Honey Bee” and Lambert being the all-time leading artist at the ACM Awards with 40 wins, a member of the Texas Songwriters Hall of Fame and a driving force behind the success of Ella Langley’s record-breaking success with “Choosin’ Texas” and Dandelion.
It should also be noted that Turnpike has been one of the underrated groups in any genre at the moment. With six albums’ worth of what can only be described as brilliance over the past 15 years, the Oklahomans have proven time and time again why many (myself included) view them as the greatest country band of all time. Simply put, they’re everything you want out of a modern country band. Between frontman, Evan Felker’s, masterful writing ability, Kyle Nix’s brilliant fiddle work on each album, RC Edward’s equally stellar songwriting and bass work and Ryan Engleman’s always-slick guitar riffs, Turnpike is the quintessential country band of the 21st century. Though they might not be as popular as McGraw, Shelton or Lambert, they are well worth your attention on Saturday night.
As for what to expect, all three days of Hondo Rodeo Fest will begin with a free street fest at noon with food vendors, shopping, brand activations and live music each day. From 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., the Million Dollar Rodeo takes place with eight different events per night. Finally, two artists each night will take the stage to put an exclamation mark on the action-packed day from 8:30 to 11:30.
If that sounds appealing, tickets are on sale now, ranging from single-day tickets and full, three-night passes that include access to both the rodeo and concerts afterwards, to VIP and hotel packages that will upgrade the overall experience. You can purchase tickets HERE.
