Won’t want to miss this.
It’s safe to say 2025 was arguably the biggest year to debate from the Red Dirt legends, Turnpike Troubadours. In addition to scoring massive opening spots on Cross Canadian Ragweed’s highly successful “Boys From Oklahoma” concert series, both in Stillwater, Oklahoma and Waco, Texas, the Red Dirt legends would also score appearances at Zach Bryan’s concerts over the summer, notably performing to his huge, sold-out shows at both BST Hyde Park in London and Golden Gate Park in San Francisco.
Of course, they also released their sixth studio album, The Price of Admission, in April to high praise from both fans and critics alike. Marking the second release since the band returned from an extended hiatus, The Price of Admission proved to many (myself included) why Turnpike is ultimately one of the greatest bands in the history of the genre, featuring some all-time tracks from the group such as “Heaven Passing Through,” “On The Red River” and the severely underrated, “Ruby Ann.”
2026 has been no different for the Red Dirt band. Throughout the year, they’ve been selling out venues across the country on their extension of 2025’s Wild America tour and a plethora of dates with Muscadine Bloodline. Couple that with a few sold-out stadium shows with Cross Canadian Ragweed once again, dropping a stellar cover of Robert Earl Keen’s “Feelin’ Good Again” with Sierra Hull back in June and recently teaming up with Zach Bryan on “Plainsman,” which is primed to be one of their biggest hits to date, Turnpike has kept the momentum going and then some.
With all the success over the past two years, the sky is truly the limit for Turnpike heading into 2027, and they made their first major announcement of the upcoming year.
Announced this morning, Turnpike will be headlining the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado, on Thursday, May 13 and Friday, May 14, 2027.
As for openers, Turnpike is calling on the red-hot Australian cowboy, Wade Forster, and the severely underrated Irish folk trio, Amble, as special guests for each night.
As for tickets, presale begins this Wednesday, October 21st at 10 a.m. MT, with signups being avaliable now using the link in their Instagram bio. General sale, on the other hand, is open to the public this Friday, October 23rd at 10 a.m. MT.
With six albums’ worth of what can only be described as brilliance over the past 15 years, the Oklahomans have proven time and time again why many (myself included) view them as the greatest country band of all time. Simply put, they’re everything you want out of a modern country band. Between frontman, Evan Felker’s, masterful writing ability, Kyle Nix’s brilliant fiddle work on each album, RC Edward’s equally stellar songwriting and bass work and Ryan Engleman’s always-slick guitar riffs, Turnpike is the quintessential country band of the 21st century.
Putting it plainly, if there’s one band and one venue that are going to be worth the high ticket prices seen across the country as of late, it’s Turnpike at Red Rocks. Having seen them multiple times over the years, they never disappoint, and sure as hell won’t at a venue as iconic as Red Rocks.
Before you go, fire up their brand new collaboration with Zach Bryan, “Plainsman.”
