The voice of morality has spoken.
We’re going on a week of outrage after Shane Gillis hosted Saturday Night Live last weekend, and upset quite a few people with his monologue.
During the 6 minute monologue, Shane poked fun at his own weight by joking that he “looks like a lesbian” and saying that women dress like “whores” at the gym these days:
“I haven’t been to the gym in so long I didn’t know women just dress like whores now? Look, I’m sorry, there’s no other way to describe… have you seen it? I’ve seen it. The shorts. Have you seen the shorts? Those neon, they’re like artificial bait colored and the wrinkles go like around the cheeks and all combine at the butthole. And don’t look, you’re not allowed to look.
For real, don’t look, because they are filming. I’m in the background of like 10 TikToks right now.”
He also ended it by making fun of his hairline:
“I’ve balded directly into an Adolf Hitler haircut, and it’s not good, because I give a lot of speeches, and the front falls down a lot and there’s no way to adjust it without looking exactly like…
It’s the only way. I’m not going to do that, that’s gay. That’s it, you’re either gay or you’re Hitler. And isn’t that where we’re at as a country?”
The jokes set off a stream of people taking to Twitter to voice their opinion, and self-righteous think pieces from various media outlets about how Gillis is harmful to society. (Remember, this is about a comedian’s jokes).
But now, we’re finally getting the opinion of somebody known for their high moral character: Casey Anthony.
In case you’ve somehow forgot, Anthony is the Florida mother who was charged with murder in the death of her 3-year old daughter, Caylee Anthony, back in 2008. The child was originally reported missing by Casey’s mother after not seeing her for a month, with the grandmother reporting that Casey had given various explanations for where Caylee was. She finally admitted to her mother that she hadn’t seen her daughter for weeks, and later called police to report that Caylee had been kidnapped by a nanny.
The toddler’s body was eventually found inside a bag in the woods near the Anthony home, and at Casey’s trial prosecutors presented evidence of someone using her computer to search for “chloroform.” Investigators also testified that cadaver dogs detected human decomposition in Casey’s car, and experts testified that Caylee’s hair as well as air sampling evidence of decomposition and chloroform were found in the trunk of the car.
Despite widespread belief that she was responsible for her daughter’s death, and despite her changing story about Caylee’s whereabouts during the time she was missing, Casey was ultimately acquitted on the charges related to Caylee’s death and was convicted only of providing false information to law enforcement.
She was sentenced to time served, and to this day nobody has been held responsible for the child’s death.
Last year, Casey Anthony decided she was going to hop on social media like nothing ever happened, describing herself as a “legal advocate” who’s worked in the legal field since 2011 (which is when she was on trial for murder).
She also launched a Substack, with her bio calling herself a “Researcher. Consultant. Author. Advocate. Activist. LGBTQIA+ Ally.” (I feel like there’s something else that she’s even more known for…)
But anyway, amidst the outrage over Gillis’ SNL monologue, the tot mom took to social media to give her thoughts – and call for men to “do better.”
“Women can dress however they want. Women in the gym can dress however they want.
Men who have opinions about how women dress, need to all the way go f–k themselves. This toxic masculinity trend needs to end. These fragile men need to get out of the way of women in totality.
We do not answer to you. We do not dress for you. We do not need your useless opinions.
Men, get it together, do better.”
Finally a voice of reason from somebody with strong moral character. I wonder how she feels about Lindsay Clancy…
