Sylvester Stallone Details When & How He Wants ‘Tulsa King’ To End

Tulsa King

Sylvester Stallone has a “dream scenario” in his head of how his hit series Tulsa King will come to an end.

The incredibly and highly underrated Stallone-led show is heading into its fourth season. It debuts on Friday, October 16 on Paramount+, and if it seems a little different (or similar to Season 1) when it hits your television screen, that’s because there was a little bit of a showrunner shakeup. Season 3’s showrunner, Dave Erickson, left the show and was replaced by the original, Season 1 showrunner: Terence Winter.

So if you really liked Season 1 of Tulsa King, chances are this fourth season is going to feel a whole lot like it. 10 brand new episodes are on their way, and the show’s official description for the upcoming season reads like this:

“Dwight (Stallone) fights to legitimize his empire and protect his crew as corrupt politicians, dangerous new enemies, and a crushing personal loss hit from every direction. However, every hard-won gain comes with even harder truths: about loyalty, leadership and the cost of ambition.

Each move drags Dwight deeper into the street instincts he left behind in New York – turning Tulsa into a battleground and Dwight into the one threat no one can afford to underestimate.”

Sylvester Stallone will, of course, return in the leading role. The rest of the cast is rounded out by names like Martin Starr, Jay Will, Vincent Piazza, Annabella Sciorra, Neal McDonough, Chris Caldovino, McKenna Quigley Harrington, and Frank Grillo, just to name a few. Even Pat McAfee has a role in the upcoming season.

Yes… that Pat McAfee. He’s rumored to have a four episode arc in the series, and not much is known about his role.

Fans of the show know that 80-year-old Sylvester Stallone still has his fast ball. His performance alone as Dwight keeps viewers coming back week after week, and season after season. The character itself even motivates Stallone to keep his acting career going as he enters into his 80s.

He recently told Collider that his role in the Taylor Sheridan series keeps him feeling young. The legendary actor can’t imagine going into “retirement mode,” but he does envision the end of the show coming in a couple of years. If it all works out, Stallone wants Tulsa King to end with Season 6:

“I’d say six in the dream world. Six. That would make me, like, 81, and that’s amazing because this show makes me feel younger, because you have to work so hard, and your brain is on fire constantly as opposed to sitting at home, atrophying behind a fishing rod — nothing against fishermen, but this is what keeps me young.“

The good news is that Tulsa King has already been renewed for Season 5 prior to the official premiere of Season 4. The bad news? That means there’s likely only one more season renewal in the future of the mafia drama, if Stallone gets his wishes and wraps things up with Season 6.

Here’s to hoping the show makes it to six seasons (all signs are pointing towards it doing so), and just in case you haven’t watched it just yet, here’s the official trailer for Tulsa King Season 4:
