They’ll never be able to accept that at the end of the day, he’s just one of the guys.
Of course as the significant other of the world’s biggest pop star, everything Travis Kelce does is going to come under increased scrutiny by his wife Taylor Swift’s absolutely unhinged fanbase. While Swifties overall seem to love Kelce and have embraced their relationship (not that it really matters), there’s always a sizable group of the fanbase ready to pounce on anything the Kansas City Chiefs tight end says or does that they don’t agree with.
And the latest example? He…liked an Instagram post of Shane Gillis’ monologue from over the weekend as the guest host of SNL.
During the 6 minute monologue, Shane poked fun at his own weight by joking that he “looks like a lesbian” and saying that women dress like “whores” at the gym these days:
“I haven’t been to the gym in so long I didn’t know women just dress like whores now? Look, I’m sorry, there’s no other way to describe… have you seen it? I’ve seen it. The shorts. Have you seen the shorts? Those neon, they’re like artificial bait colored and the wrinkles go like around the cheeks and all combine at the butthole. And don’t look, you’re not allowed to look.
For real, don’t look, because they are filming. I’m in the background of like 10 TikToks right now.”
He also ended it by making fun of his hairline:
“I’ve balded directly into an Adolf Hitler haircut, and it’s not good, because I give a lot of speeches, and the front falls down a lot and there’s no way to adjust it without looking exactly like…
It’s the only way. I’m not going to do that, that’s gay. That’s it, you’re either gay or you’re Hitler. And isn’t that where we’re at as a country?”
The monologue has ignited a firestorm over on social media, with critics calling the jokes “misogynistic” and demanding that Gillis be banned from appearing on the late-night sketch comedy show in the future.
But apparently Travis Kelce thought it was funny.
Swifties quickly noticed that Kelce “liked” a post from SNL on Instagram that shared the monologue in its entirety – and as you can imagine, they’re not happy about it.
Aren’t these people tired of getting outraged about everything? (That’s a rhetorical question, of course they’re not because it makes them feel morally superior any time they can virtue signal on social media).
Anyway, Swifties obviously aren’t the only ones who weren’t happy with the monologue. Maren Morris, who is friends with Swift and even attended her wedding to Kelce over the summer, also took to social media to give her thoughts (and the middle finger) on the monologue:
@marenmorris leave my gym short wedgies out of it
Of course Kelce and Gillis are also friends outside of the online echo chamber, and Gillis even appeared at his annual Tight End University this summer in Nashville, which Kelce hosts alongside fellow tight ends George Kittle and Greg Olsen. So something tells me the tight end was just supporting his friend, even if he doesn’t (or does) support everything he says.
You know, like a normal person.
