Sounds like it’s going to be a great Friday.

This morning, Kip Moore announced a new two-song project called Dyin’ On The Vine, which will drop in just two days. Set for release this Friday, October 9th, I have to imagine one of the songs will be his unreleased track “Dyin’ On The Vine,” but he hasn’t revealed what the other one is yet.

It’s somewhat surprising that he’s already putting out new music, considering he just released his seventh studio album Reason to Believe in May. It was another impressive project, which finds him reflecting on grief, resilience, faith and hope. Kip consistently puts out stellar albums, and despite being truly one of the most talented artists in mainstream country in terms of his vocals and songwriting prowess, he has remained of the most underrated artists in country in my humble opinion.

Kip teased this new project some this week, including what looks to be shots from some sort of music video with shots of him sitting on a stool and singing with flowers all around the floor:

This morning, he shared the project cover art and release date, which thankfully, is only days away:

“‘Dyin’ On The Vine,’ a two song project, coming this Friday, October 9th.”

Kip is now with Virgin Music Group after leaving his longtime label MCA Nashville in 2024, and in different interviews, he’s talked about why it was time for him to move on, and a lot of it had to do with wanting to put out more music and not have to follow someone else’s timeline.

As a fan, it’s exciting because he has more freedom with when and how music gets put out, and that also means it’s less likely you’ll have to just wait two years for a new album and repeat that cycle over and over. If he has music ready, why not just put it out? That’s the benefit of modern music in that you don’t have to wait as long to put things out, and I love that he’s already dropping new songs, even though he already put out a full length album this year.

The countdown is on…

Kip still has a handful of tour dates left for this year in South Africa and Australia:
