Well alrighty then.
Of course everybody’s been paying tribute to the legendary Dolly Parton since her death last week at the age of 80. But apparently some protestors are deciding to honor the late country music legend in another way: By calling out how she’s depicted on the logo for her new truck stop.
Dolly made her last in-person public appearance back in June when she celebrated the opening of her Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop in Cornersville, Tennessee. The truck stop, which was developed by Dolly in partnership with the Tennessean Truck Stop brand, features a full-service restaurant, coffee shop general store, and even a dog park – as well as the opportunity to get her famous Dollywood gooey cinnamon bread:

I haven’t made it down there yet, but Dolly was at the grand opening and even took a shot at Buc-ee’s during her remarks:
“I wanted to welcome all of you and say thank you for coming. We’re very excited about our truck stop: the Tennessean Travel Stop… I’m sure some of you are wondering why I wanted a truck stop. Well, I couldn’t leave it to beavers.
I had to throw my scrawny little self in there. We’re not trying to compete with anybody. We don’t think we’ll have to. We think we’re going to have everything that you want or need.”
She had previously said that she wanted to open a travel stop to provide folks with a place to nice place to relax after spending so much time on the road herself throughout her career:
“I have spent the bulk of my life on the road, and more specifically on a bus. All the years spent visiting greasy spoon cafes, truck stops, and roadside pit stops have given me an understanding of what traveler’s desire on the road.
Whether you are driving a truck, a bus, or a car, you want a place that feels like home and recharges you for the rest of your journey. I believe we will fill a void out there on the highways, all while bringing the heart and soul of Tennessee.”
As it turns out though, not everybody is a fan of the travel stop…or at least their logo.
Video was posted over the weekend showing a group of Christian protestors posted up outside of Dolly’s travel stop, calling out Tennessean Travel Stop owner Gregory H. Sachs and the “perverts” who stopped at the truck stop despite the seductive logo:
“Do not tell me you came to the new truck stop … where everybody thinks there’s a new strip club in town. You can’t tell me you just stumbled upon this place and decided to go in anyway, even though you saw the naked silhoutte, the naked mud flap girl, that the wicked perverts in Hollywood, Greg H. Sachs I think is his name, billionaire, works in Hollywood, to portray a naked image of Dolly all over this place. And you people don’t even care.
The lady just died and you continue to rub that smut in a wold of children dying. And you wonder why your children wind up to be as messed up as you are. Wicked and perverse generations.”
Wow…a lot to unpack there. But I’m not going to. Think I’ll just let that one speak for itself.
