Quite an elaborate proposal.
Post Malone proposed to his girlfriend, stylist Christy Lee, on August 17th, and they had friends sharing photos from the evening where Lee was wearing a “bride-to-be” sash and showing off her massive rock.
Malone and Lee have been together for about a year and a half, and were spotted together a few times publicly last year, but they ultimately split after just a couple of months, though clearly at some point, they rekindled that flame and look very much in love now:
And since the engagement, Lee spilled all of the details about the engagement to Variety, and it all happened at Malone’s sprawling Utah ranch. She says he had been asking questions about a “hypothetical” ring for several months, trying to get an idea of what he wanted to design.
She told him she wanted something simple, and when he asked if that meant there was such a thing as a ring being “too big,” she joked that she “didn’t think so”:
“I told him I actually preferred the opposite—something very simple, with a delicate, thin gold band. I jokingly told him I didn’t think so.”
The final result ended up being a massive, custom 20-plus carat natural oval diamond ring on a gold band, and it’s really one of the biggest rings I’ve ever seen… I can’t imagine what it costs to create a ring like that.
Of course, she says it’s “exactly what I would have chosen for myself,” and I can’t say I blame her:
“When I saw it, I was honestly speechless.”
In terms of the rest of the weekend, Lee revealed that Malone had also surprised her with some new animals, and has all of her friends in town too. He had planned a surprise engagement party, and had her parents there, too:
“Austin first surprised me with a baby Highland cow, bunnies, and chickens. He had planned the most beautiful intimate dinner at the ranch, with another surprise waiting for me—my best friends and parents were all there.”
She didn’t know it yet, but it was all part of his plan to propose, and as the dinner wrapped up and it started to rain, Malone got down on one knee. He did it under an arch of beautiful white flowers, which can be seen in some of the photos.
I’m sure the wedding will be beautiful, and who knew Posty was such a romantic… I just can’t get over her ring:
