When it comes to stone cold country heartbreakers, Riley Green doesn’t miss.
Today, he released the next song, called “Imagine That,” which is included on his forthcoming fourth studio album That’s Just Me. It’s the fourth song released from the 19-song tracklist, and it’s right in his wheelhouse in terms of country heartbreak heaters, as he reflects on a relationship that didn’t work out and pines for things to be different.
Written by Riley along with Jonathan Singleton and Ray Fulcher, it finds Riley hypothetically asking the girl he can’t stop thinking about to imagine that there’s a boy that’s “just dying to get you back,” which of course, is really him, and it’s a great play on words and really cool concept:

It’s late at night, I bet your’e wondering why the hell I want
I just called to let you know that you’re the only always on my mind,
See if there’s a chance in hell you want to see my tonight
Before you make up your mind
Imagine there’s a four wheel drive

Riley has been teasing this one for a little while, previously sharing part of it on social media, and I think it’s easily my favorite of the pre-released songs so far. He’s just so good at these kinds of clever, yet simple and sad songs, and of course, the reference to Willie Nelson’s “Always On My Mind” is my favorite part.
The production is simply and very true to his overall sound in general, and this definitely reminds me of some of his earlier music which made me a fan in the first place, so I’m very much here for it. Riley has
That’s Just Me is set for release on Friday, September 18th, just days before Riley makes his debut as a judge on the The Voice on Monday, September 21st.
