Maybe she was dropping hints.
As first reported by TMZ, and confirmed by court records in Williamson County, Tennessee, Jelly Roll has filed for divorce from his wife Bunnie Xo after a decade of marriage. The petition for divorce was filed by Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord, against his wife, whose real name is Alisa DeFord, back on May 18.

According to TMZ, the decision to split was “mutual,” and “a private family matter.”
The couple were married back in 2016 before renewing their vows in 2023, and have been incredibly transparent about their relationship, including their struggles along the way. As Bunnie has discussed in the past, the two separated not long after getting married when she discovered that Jelly Roll was having an affair with an ex of his:
“We got married in 2016. The affair was started with an ex in 2017, and then I think I found out about it early on in 2018.”
If you’re not familiar with Bunnie, she’s actually got a pretty incredible story herself. The host of the Dumb Blonde Podcast who’s built up a massive following of her own, she actually started out as a high-end escort in Las Vegas, which is what she was doing when her and Jelly Roll first met.
The two had recently discussed their struggles trying to conceive a child through IVF, with hopes of conceiving twins through a surrogate, though it’s obviously unclear whether or not they will continue trying now that they are getting divorced… maybe they’ve already been successful with it, who knows
Neither Jelly Roll nor Bunnie have commented on the divorce filing, so we don’t know what happened to lead to the separation. Jelly Roll is currently on the road with Post Malone for his Big Ass Stadium Tour while also headlining his own Little Ass Shed Tour.
But fans think Bunnie may have been dropping hints that something was off with their relationship, and one video in particular has caught a lot of attention, which shows Bunnie riding a horse with the Nicotine Dolls cover of Aerosmith’s 1989 hit “What It Takes,” sharing it with the caption:
“Wild hearts can’t be broken.”
Seems pretty obvious to me…

She also shared a video recently featuring Goo Goo Dolls’ “Name,” and the caption: “Did you lose yourself somewhere out there.”

Of course, fans filled the comment section, with many of them offering support and saying that they now realized in retrospect, she was trying to tell them something:
“I’ve been stuck down the rabbit hole for hours. Bailee hasn’t posted since 6.6.26. The day this and the post after were posted. I’m afraid it is true.”
“I feel worst for Bailee. Secondly for Bunnie.”
“I’m staying with mama in the divorce.”
“So he got skinny and left her? She is literally one of the most beautiful women out there.”
“Open relationships don’t work.”
“You better spill all the tea on the podcast… We’ve come too far together to be left behind on this.”
“Are we ALL heart broken and staying with mom during this divorce?”
“Never forget that YOU made him. He wouldn’t have even sprung to fame so fast if it wasn’t for YOU and YOUR tiktok community. I didn’t even know who Jelly Roll was before you and I won’t know anything about him after you.”
“You have been grieving this whole time and we didn’t catch on. I am so sorry, Bunnie.”
“She’s always told us to make moves in silence. Damn girl. My heart hurts so so so bad.”
“This was foreshadowing.”
“Makes so much sense now, I hope you find peace and happiness Bunnie.”
“Now this song makes sense.”
“Girl rode hard for her man. I hope they’ll both be okay.”
“I’m sorry we didn’t notice you were hurting. We love you.”
“God the signs were here. Guys she was telling us.”
“Bunnie has been goin thru s***.”
“No one EVER knows what’s going on in someone’s house besides the people who live there. We support you Bunnie.”
Bunnie and Jelly don’t have children of their own together, but they did raise Jelly’s daughter Bailee together, and he has a son that mostly stays out of the spotlight who is part of their lives as well. It’s sad for the whole family, but you really never know what’s going on behind closed doors in someone else’s lives.
It’s also completely unfair to speculate on any reasons like “he got skinny and left her,” “he cheated on her,” “she cheated on him,” etc… we all live in this social media world where everything always feels like a public forum, but it’s insanely ignorant to assume anything regarding their relationship. Bunnie has always been extremely open on her podcast, so I have to imagine at some point, probably pretty far down the road, she’ll speak about this to a certain extent and address it with fans, who are clearly heartbroken for her.
