I’m so here for this.

A little over a week ago, Miranda Lambert and MCA announced that she will release future music with the label, marking a new chapter in her decorated recording career. Miranda was previously with Republic for a couple of years, and MCA has an impressive roster of country artists, so it’s clear she’s ready to get back to a Nashville-based label and continue her commitment to the creative community and roots that have long shaped her artistry.

Miranda will now be label mates with George Strait, Chris Stapleton, Sam Hunt, Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, and Reba McEntire, and she will fit right in and certainly be an asset to an already-impressive group of artists.

And it looks like that “future music” is coming sooner rather than later, as she just shared a teaser on Instagram that definitely points to a single dropping in a little over two weeks. She posted a video of two rhinestoned coffee cups that read “country’ and “disco,” and the caption was a link to a website called CountryAndDisco.com.

Once you get there, you see a biscuit with a pat of sparkly butter that melts, and an option to pre-save a new single and a countdown that has 15 days and 12 hours left, leading me to think she might drop a song on Friday, May 15th. There is actually an American jam band called the Disco Biscuits, but something tells me that a collab is not what Miranda is talking about here.

With her moving to MCA, it would make a ton of sense to start putting out new music right away, and it looks like the next era of Miranda is upon us, and considering how sparkly it already is, consider me highly intrigued. The video also has audio of a lady talking about Crisco, so it seems like butter will play a big part in whatever this is and I’m very much here for that as well.

I love the direction this already seems to be heading, the disco aspect is really cool, and you just never know what Miranda has up her sleeve so it could be anything:

Miranda most recently put out her most recent album Postcards from Texas in 2024, and she’s been working with Ella Langley to write and produce her monster new album Dandelion, where she’s also featured on a duet called “Butterfly Season,” in addition to appearing on Kacey Musgraves’ highly-anticipated album for a duet called “Horses and Divorces,” which will be released this Friday.

Also, Miranda teamed up with Chris Stapleton for a very disc-inspired duet called “A Song To Sing,” which may have been a hint about what she had up her sleeve… stay tuned.
