Well… it’s certainly a choice.
Following the weekend at Stagecoach, Luke Scornavacco, who is a TikTok content creator and ex-husband of Morgan Wallen’s ex, KT Smith, shared a very pointed video seemingly at Smith using one of Morgan’s songs.
KT Smith and Morgan Wallen share a 5-year-old son, Indigo, and the two were previously engaged in an on-again, off-again relationship from 2016 to 2019. Morgan and KT seem to have a good co-parenting relationship and both of them seem to be great parents. But once the two called it quits for good, KT got into a relationship with Luke, and the two dated for two years before tying the knot. They got married on April 3, 2024, and announced their split on January 14th, 2025. There were signs they might reconcile, I’m not sure when the divorce actually went through, but they certainly aren’t together anymore.
And all of that didn’t come without a lot of online controversy, and I’ll give you a little backstory before we get to the aforementioned TikTok, so stay with me… last year, KT caused quite a stir commotion online after appearing on the Dumb Blonde podcast hosted by Jelly Roll’s wife, Bunnie Xo, when she admitted that she knew Luke’s social media career gave her the ick before the choice to get married, and when Bunnie pressed more on the topic, KT admitted that it being an ick comes from past relationship trauma… cough cough Morgan Wallen.
“Okay, the ick does come from a past trauma and I didn’t want Luke to feel like, get all of his validation from all these strangers and women on the internet and then it turn into what it did in my prior relationship. And secretly, I guess I was scared of that. Guys hurt so much different, once they’re hurt once, they kind of build up a wall. So once we announced that we’re getting divorced, I was like, ‘Hey, let’s work on things.’”
Smith also opened up about what led her to want a divorce:
“I love Luke. I’ll always love Luke. Throughout our relationship, I just had issues with certain things, and like, we both did social media, and that’s basically I feel like impossible for two people to both do that career and for it to be lasting. For me, like I had said earlier, I want to be in a soft girl era and not feel like I have to take care of so much.
But I was taking care of the bills, all of the bills except for half the rent, and that’s just also who I am as a person. Like, I offered to do it, but then it gets to a point where it’s like, I don’t wanna have to hold everything together. Take care of the chickens and do manly things like that, lawn work and all that stuff. The social media thing was kind of an ick for me, and that was my fault for getting into it knowing that he did that.”
I mean, it definitely isn’t something you should publicly air out if you’re trying to save the marriage, but clearly they weren’t meant to be together and they’ve since officially split for good, even though they apparently got back together after that podcast episode for a time.

At the time the episode aired, KT Smith received a lot of backlash on social media afterward for publicly slamming her husband and then trying to repair things. So all that to say, it sounds like they didn’t have a great relationship a lot of the time, in spite of what was shown on social media, which all led to this recent post of Luke’s.
He shared a now-viral video of himself walking around at Stagecoach with Morgan’s song “I Got Better” playing in the background, which Morgan has talked about before in terms of it being very personal to him and one of his favorites from I’m The Problem.
Luke shared the video with a very simple caption, saying he very much relates to the song:
“Can confirm.”
I think that says it all about his side of the story…

Of course, fans in the comments certainly seemed to pick up on the message and think that song was chosen very specifically and with a lot of intention considering all of the aforementioned context:
“The layers to this song choice.”
“I HAVE NO ONE TO TALK TO ABOUT THIS.”
“If only Morgan liked.”
“He’s like, I can personally agree with the person singing the song bahhaha.”
“We have all been WAITINGGGGG for you to use this audio.”
“HAHAHA!! You spoke so loud without saying a thing!”
“Not one, but TWO can confirm!! Ha!”
“I need to be on Luke’s level of pettiness.”
“Oh this is MESSY.”
“I see what you did there Luke, excellent song choice.”
“The song choice top tier!”
“The way this was not subtle.”
“The way my mouth hit the floor when I heard the song.”
Of course, there’s always two sides to every story and I’m sure KT would have a lot to say about both of her ex’s and their imperfections, to be fair, but either way, she’ll probably never listen to this song again…
