C’mon, y’all… we can’t do this again.

Last night, Morgan Wallen and Ella Langley confirmed that they have a new duet called “I Can’t Love You Anymore” dropping this Friday. During Morgan’s show in Tuscaloosa, Alabama tonight for the second weekend of his Still the Problem tour, they performed the song to the excitement of thousands of screaming fans,

Eagle-eyed fans noticed in the lead-up to Ella’s Dandelion album announcement that she had actually already dropped a hint for fans in her “Choosin’ Texas” music video, which featured a Tennessee (for Morgan Wallen) license plate with the letters “ICLYA.”

While we don’t know yet whether it will be featured on Morgan’s upcoming album or whether it’s just a one-off collab, Morgan and Ella treated the crowd in Tuscaloosa to the first listen to the new song:

While it’s the first collab the two have released together, it’s not the first time they’ve teamed up: Ella opened for Morgan on his I’m the Problem Tour last year, and while she was on the road with him Morgan brought Ella out on stage to join him on his #1 hit “What I Want,” which is a duet with Canadian pop star Tate McRae on his I’m the Problem album.

I’m sure it won’t be the last time we see the two of them perform what is sure to be a huge duet, and just like when Ella’s song with Riley “You Look Like You Love Me” blew up, fans are already speculating on whether or not Ella and Morgan might be more than friends or collaborators… I mean, the rumors about her and Riley were non-stop for several months, and I have no idea if there’s any truth to any of them, but this duet with Morgan seems very platonic to me.

I feel like sometimes fans need the reminder that just because two artists who are male and female collaborators doesn’t mean there’s anything else going on…

But I’ve already seen tons of comments about how people think there’s “something there,” which is just the nature of the business if two people are single. It definitely has people talking, though they’re two of the biggest artists in mainstream country I don’t think they need much other help in getting people to listen to their music at all:

“She said ‘Riley who?!'”

“I definitely think there is something there.”

“Tim and Faith coded circa 1996.”

“They make a cute couple.”

“Wow!! Are they the next Tim and Faith?!?! Sure looks like they’re into each other big time!”

“I thought the same thing when they were singing together before!!!!!”

“I said this last night after watching them. Such a great show.”

“Yes! I like them as a couple! I hope it’s true.”

There’s plenty more where that came from if you scroll through comments on any of the videos floating around of this performance, and you can listen to the live rendition of “”I Can’t Love You Anymore” here:
