New music coming soon from the Louisiana native. The CMA Entertainer of the Year, Lainey Wilson, has been teasing a new song called “Can’t Sit Still” for a couple of weeks now, and she previously shared a link to a website, cantsitstill.com, which gives fans a teaser of the new song.
While on tour in New Zealand and Australia, Wilson has been performing a new tune with a memorable melody and upbeat production, in which she sings about how much she runs around and has a restless soul, hence the title.
Outside of playing “Can’t Sit Still” on tour and teasing it online, she’s also using it as a part of her Ford Truck Month partnership. During a behind-the-scenes look at her campaign with the vehicle company, she shared what inspired the song.
“When I hear the words ‘Can’t Sit Still,’ I think of me. I think it’s one of my qualities that I feel like has been one of the things that has gotten me to where I’m at. When it comes to songwriting and getting creative and things like that, it’s always important for me to be one step ahead… Yeah, this job will keep you moving.”
Ain’t that the truth. Wilson is on the go nonstop with her career, whether she’s on the road, making press appearances, hosting awards shows, or working on her next projects. Wilson continued to expand on the meaning behind the song, adding:
“My friends would describe me as a suitcase with legs. I’ve never really thought that you could be in ten different places at once, but somehow we make it happen.”
Wilson hasn’t set an official release date for “Can’t Sit Still” yet, but she did share with the crowd in Sydney, Australia, that it’s coming out “real soon.”
