Must Be Nice: Travis Kelce Can Add “Good Golf Game” To His List Of Accomplishments (Engaged To Billionaire Pop Star, Super Bowl-Winning Tight-End, Etc.)

Travis Kelce

Must be nice to be Travis Kelce.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end is living a pretty good life. Years ago, you might have just known him as the boxy offensive weapon for the Chiefs who can catch big time passes when they are needed most. Now, Kelce wears many different hats, and seems to be everywhere you look in the football, pop culture, and sports media landscape.

Here’s everything that the 36-year-old football player currently has going for him:

-Beloved, Super Bowl-winning tight end who is an undoubtable shoe-in for the Pro Football Hall of Fame

-Engaged to be married to billionaire pop star Taylor Swift

-Has one of the most popular sports podcasts in the world with he and his brother’s (Jason Kelce) New Heights

-Apparently has a good enough golf game to absolutely throw a dart on one of the most famous holes in golf

That last one was on full display during the Waste Management Phoenix Open’s Pro-Am tournament earlier today. The Waste Management, also known as “The People’s Open,” is a PGA tournament held at TPC Scottsdale in Scottsdale, Arizona. It traditionally starts on the Thursday before the “Big Game” and concludes just before the Super Bowl kicks off on Sunday.

Thus, a perfect appetizer for the NFL’s finale.

If you’ve never checked it out, it’s one of the rowdiest golf tournaments… scratch that, it is THE rowdy golf tournament on the PGA Tour’s schedule. It’s one of my favorite tournaments of the year, just because of the atmosphere and the tournament’s iconic 16th hole – a Par 3 fully enclosed by stadium seating. It also helps that the Waste Management Phoenix Open usually brings out all of the PGA Tour’s best for the first time of the season.

But before it even tees off, some of the world’s best golfers pair up with celebrities and other high-profile individuals for the Pro-Am. Travis Kelce was paired up with professionals Scottie Scheffler and Brooks Koepka in the first tee time of the day, and when their group got to the “Stadium Hole,” the Kansas City Chief did not disappoint:

Oh, look at me! I’m Travis Kelce. I’m one of the most recognizable stars in the NFL, I’m getting married to one of the most famous (and richest) people on the planet, and I can stiff an iron shot in front of a rowdy crowd on the famous 16th hole at TPC Scottsdale!

Everything is coming up Travis Kelce, eh? I wasn’t familiar with his golf game, but if he can do that on a hole that even gets to the nerves of the professionals, I’d say he knows a thing or two about hitting that little white ball around. Kelce’s quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, was watching from home like the rest of us and he offered up his support on X:

Funny enough, the vagueness of that post (and the fact that not many people knew Travis Kelce was playing in the Pro-Am) got football fans thinking that Mahomes’ tweet was confirming some sort of NFL news. There’s been speculation that Kelce could retire during this offseason and not return to the Chiefs, so the Kansas City faithful thought that above post was confirming Kelce’s comeback.

Patrick Mahomes quickly clarified he was just hyped about Travis’ golf shot at the Waste Management:

Nothing like a little NFL offseason drama fueled by a remarkable golf shot, am I right?
