NFL Fans Explode After Cleveland Browns QB, Shedeur Sanders, Is Shockingly Named To Pro Bowl Roster

Shedeur Sanders

NFL fans aren’t so sure about this Pro Bowl selection.

Now that the NFC and AFC Championship games have been played, and the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots are set to play in Super Bowl LX, it’s the time of the year where the pro bowl rosters are selected and announced. Only the best of the best get the honor of representing their teams, divisions and conferences in the Pro Bowl games.

Or so we thought.

Traditionally, the players that showed out in their respective position are honored with being named a Pro Bowler. Anyone that’s watched the Pro Bowl in recent years knows that it’s descending into a weird skill-competition and flag football contest. The Pro Bowl itself isn’t all that prestigious, but being named a Pro Bowler is.

And Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders – who was selected by the cursed franchise in the 5th round of last year’s NFL Draft – was one of the players named to the 2026 Pro Bowl (as a replacement).

That’s a questionable Pro Bowl selection to say the least.

Why? Well, we can first look at other quarterbacks in the NFL that didn’t get named to the Pro Bowl. The most prominent name to not make it over Shedeur was Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who had an exceptional season (especially at the end of the season). Others like CJ Stroud, Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, and Aaron Rodgers were also skipped over… though some of those players did struggle with injuries throughout the year.

That being said, Shedeur Sanders only started seven games during the 2025-26 season, and here are his stats from those starts:

  • Record: 3-4
  • 7 touchdowns
  • 10 interceptions
  • 1,400 yards passing
  • 56.6% completion percentage
  • 18.9 QBR

Here’s another way to look at it:

Yikes.

It’s possible that many other quarterbacks declined an invitation to the Pro Bowl, and that’s why the “honor” eventually landed on Sanders. But even if that’s the case, NFL fans have lost all hope and faith in the event that used to actually mean something:

Safe to say the news isn’t going over well.

I’ll leave you with this stat that’s almost hard to believe. Every sports fan loves a good statistic, and this one is truly remarkable. Kevin Stefanski, who coached the Cleveland Browns for six seasons and was recently fired (then quickly hired by the Atlanta Falcons), won the “Coach of the Year” award in 2020 and 2023 – both times with the Cleveland Browns.

He never once had a “Pro Bowl quarterback” until this year:

That, my friends, is simply hilarious.
