Landman actress Ali Larter has scenes she likes doing and scenes she doesn’t care all that much for in the hit Paramount+ show.

The latest Taylor Sheridan series, focusing on the ins and outs of the oil business in Texas, has been a runaway hit for the streaming service. Much of that is thanks to the cast, which includes Billy Bob Thornton, Demi Moore, Andy Garcia, Sam Elliott, and the scene stealing and aforementioned Ali Larter.

Larter plays Angela, the ex-wife/wife (it’s complicated) of Thornton’s Tommy Norris. The 49-year-old actress is the perfect fit in the role, and brings a certain energy to the character that makes every unbelievable scene that she’s a part of more believable.

She’s voiced in the past how much she enjoys the role, and how she admires Taylor Sheridan writing empowering roles for women. And when she spoke with People recently, Larter shared that her favorite scenes to shoot in the series are either more dialogue based, or those that she shares with the older cast members:

“My favorite is when I get to have a real, honest quiet exchange between Tommy and Angela. I just love that. And I love the old folks!”

So what are Ali Larter’s least favorite scenes? Well… that answer might surprise you.

The actress behind Angela went on to say that the scenes she doesn’t care for are the bikini scenes. Fans of Landman know that Larter’s character is often seen lounging by the pool, and there’s a good amount of them throughout the first two seasons. She says she battles through it because she knows it’s her job as an actress to do so:

“I don’t think there’s an actress alive that’s like, ‘Woo! Got a bikini scene!’ Nobody wants to do it. Those are the hardest for me. I don’t enjoy them. It’s just part of the story that I’m telling, and I’m an actress, so I get on board. But those are definitely my least favorite.”

I wonder if Taylor Sheridan will shift his writing a bit if he sees that?

Though the scenes might not be her favorite, Ali Larter knows that they are important for the character of Angela, who just might be the most confident woman in the world. The actress says she put’s aside any worries she might have personally because she knows that Angela wouldn’t ever be insecure in her own skin:

“But no matter what, it’s like, I’ve got to spend all this time fighting off my own insecurities, my own anxiety, to be able to put on that bikini and walk into these scenes… When I look around, the sexiest women I know are the women that own it. So part of getting there with Angela is owning it.

(There’s) no space in my mind for insecurity. I’m not allowing any of that into my space when I play Angela. I wouldn’t be able to do it if I allowed insecurity to creep in.”

Like I said, it’ll be interesting to see if there’s any shift in writing and scene creation from Sheridan if he gets word of this. But if bikini scenes keep getting thrown Larter’s way, she’ll continue to embrace that “What would Angela do? mentality and power through.
