‘Landman’ Cast Is Calling Season 2 An Absolute “Rollercoaster” Ahead Of Premiere

The cast of Landman giving fans a sneak peek into the show’s second season.

Landman’s second act is set to release on November 16 – almost exactly a year after the show’s first season (it aired on November 17, 2024). That means that we’re just a few weeks away from seeing the star-studded cast of Billy Bob Thornton, Demi Moore, Andy Garcia, Sam Elliott, Ali Larter, Jacob Lofland, and Michelle Randolph – among others – return to our television screens.

The second season’s official synopsis implies that a boiling point will be reached one way or another as Thornton’s crisis executive and “fixer” Tommy Norris will certainly be forced to put out some fires:

“As oil rises from the earth, so do secrets – and Tommy Norris’s (Thornton) breaking point may be closer than he realizes. Facing mounting pressure from M-Tex Oil, Cami Miller (Moore), and the shadow of his kin, survival in West Texas isn’t noble – it’s brutal. And sooner or later something’s got to break.”

Can’t wait to watch the Landman universe reach a boiling point.

But before we get to the drama of the Taylor Sheridan hit show’s sophomore run, we’re hearing from the cast thanks to a video that Paramount+ dropped titled “Inside Landman Season 2.” Almost every major character – including a very special newcomer in Sam Elliot – was featured in the short video, and every single person had something to say about Season 2.

Billy Bob Thornton, who plays Tommy Norris, kicked things off by saying it was great to be back for a second season, and that the cast and crew of the show is some of the best he’s ever collaborated with:

“It feels great to be back on Landman Season 2. Season 1 was… well, it exceeded our expectations. I have to say it’s one of the best cast and crews I’ve ever worked with, and there’s been a lot of them.”

That’s high praise coming from Thornton

Speaking of high praise, Demi Moore (the wonderfully talented actress behind Cami Miller) complimented the show’s leading man, and the voice that he brings to Landman:

“Billy Bob’s voice is a beautiful combination of humor and heart. It’s just so perfect.”

It is hard to imagine anyone else playing Tommy Norris.

And it’ll be really interesting to see how Thornton’s character reacts to having his father, played by the legendary Sam Elliot, around in the second season. Elliot is very grateful to be a part of the hit show, and suggested that being a part of something like it is rare for someone that’s been working as an actor for over five decades:

“I’ve been in this business for 56 years I think. And to have an opportunity like this after that much time is pretty special.”

Sam Elliot might be excited to join the Landman cast, but I’d argue that the Landman cast is even more pumped to have him join the team.

Michelle Randolph, who brings the role of Aynsley Norris to life in the show, can hardly believe that she now gets to work alongside Sam Elliot:

“Another legend joining this cast that we get to work with. How lucky (we are) to get to work with Sam. And our characters get to have some really special moments with him.”

One other character that seems as though they’ll sharing a lot of screen time with Elliot is Ali Larter’s Angela. That being said, Larter revealed in the “Inside Landman Season 2″ video that her character will be doing a lot of growing, and fans will get more insight as to how the Norris family is run:

“This season, you see how we run a family, and Angela also has to understand the depth of the danger of his business.”

And there seems to be a lot of danger involved with M-Tex Oil. A previous trailer that was released provided some hints as to why Jon Hamm’s Monty Miller was struggling internally, and how Andy Garcia’s mob boss character could further work into the story.

It was Paulina Chávez (Ariana) and Jacob Lofland (Cooper Norris) that probably summed up what fans can expect from the second season best:

“It’s a rollercoaster. It’s gonna be a rollercoaster, for sure.”

And I’ve got a feeling that Landman fans are ready to go along for the ride.
