Country/Folk Singer, Todd Snider, Forced To Cancel Tour After “Violent Assault” Outside Of Salt Lake City Hotel

Todd Snider

Prayers for Todd Snider and his family.

Fresh off releasing a new record, HIGH, LONESOME AND THEN SOME, back on October 17th, Todd Snider had recently kicked off his brand new tour behind the album of the same name. After kicking off the tour smoothly on Thursday, October 30th in Englewood, Colorado, the Portland native was severely injured ahead of his Salt Lake City, Utah show on November 1st.

At the time, all that was known about the incident is that Snider was unable to perform in Salt Lake City due to “injuries sustained in an incident last night” as posted by the venue, Commonwealth Room.

With that being said, however, it quickly became apparent that the injuries sustained were the result of something much more serious.

According to an Instagram post uploaded by the “Beer Run” singer’s record label, Aimless Inc., Snider sustained severe injuries in a “violent assault” outside of his hotel in Salt Lake City. Though Snider is currently in stable condition, he has cancelled all remaining tour dates on the aforementioned High, Lonesome and Then Some Tour.

The full statement from Snider’s team reads as follows:

“We are heartbroken to announce the cancellation of the ‘High, Lonesome and Then Some’ 2025 Tour dates. Ahead of Todd Snider’s show in Salt Lake City, Todd sustained severe injuries as the victim of a violent assault outside of his hotel.

Todd will be unable to perform for an undetermined amount of time. We deeply apologize for the cancellation and any inconvenience it causes. We appreciate your understanding as Todd receives needed medical treatment. We hope to have more information on new dates soon.”

Snider, who has released well over a dozen albums over the course of his 30-year music career, is forced to cancel nearly 20 separate tour dates which were just announced less than two weeks ago.

Upon posting the health update, fans, record labels and fellow artists, including Cross Canadian Ragweed’s Cody Canada and John Carter Cash, took to Snider’s Instagram comments to show support for the 59-year-old singer/songwriter.

“Man. Big love to you Todd. This is messed up. Ya know you got the world on your side. Sorry for whatever darkness you encountered.” – Ian Moore Band

“Love you man. This world is f**** up.” – Cody Canada

“Love you Todd” – Tony Kamel

“We love you Todd” – Oh Boy Records

“Prayers for his healing” – John Carter Cash

“WTF!! We love you bro.” – Ben Welker

As of now, there have been no further comments from Snider nor his team revolving around the nature of the attack or his current health condition. Additionally, local news has not yet covered the attack.

This is an ongoing story, and we will provide further updates as soon as possible.
