Gonna be a lot of people tuning into this one.
Kai Trump is like her grandfather, President Donald Trump, in a lot of ways. The emerging influencer has racked up 2.5 million followers on Instagram, proving that like her grandpa, she knows how to get people to tune into what she’s doing. And she’s also recently started her own business venture, launching a new clothing line (that ruffled the feathers of some Swifties who thought the logo looked a little too similar to Taylor Swift’s fiancé Travis Kelce’s brand).
The most obvious way that she takes after her grandpa, though, is her love of golf. President Trump is an avid golfer himself, even famously challenging then-President Joe Biden to a golf match during a debate last year. And Kai is set to attend the University of Miami to play golf for the Hurricanes in the class of 2026.
Kai is currently ranked 461st in the Rolex AJGA Rankings, and has reportedly already raked in sponsorships totaling into the millions from golf companies like Callaway and TaylorMade.
And next month, she’s set to make her debut on the LPGA Tour.
The president’s granddaughter announced today that she’ll be competing in The Annika at Pelican Golf Club, an annual tournament in Belleair, Florida that will take place November 13-16.
Kai received a sponsor exemption to compete in the tournament, and calls competing in the LPGA a dream of hers:
“My dream has been to compete with the best in the world on the LPGA Tour. This event will be an incredible experience. I look forward [to] meeting and competing against so many of my heroes and mentors in golf as I make my LPGA Tour debut.”
The LPGA’s chief tour business and operations officer Ricki Lasky expressed her excitement to have the president’s oldest granddaughter in the event, saying that her participation will help bring the sport of golf to a younger female audience:
“Sponsor invitations are an important way to spotlight emerging talent and bring new attention to our tournaments and the LPGA. Kai’s broad following and reach are helping introduce golf to new audiences, especially among younger fans. We’re excited to see her take this next step in her journey.”
The 18-year old Kai Trump is the daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and his ex-wife Vanessa Haydon. And earlier this year, her mother went public with her new relationship that no doubt has Kai’s approval, with golf legend Tiger Woods.
Seems like the whole family loves being on the golf course.
The Annika also announced last week that WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark will be playing in this year’s pro-am, which will be held on Wednesday, November 12, alongside LPGA players like Nelly Korda, Charley Hull, and Lilia Vu.
The tournament debuted in 2020 and is named after LPGA legend Annika Sorenstam, with proceeds from the event going to benefit her ANNIKA Foundation to support young female golfers. This year’s event will feature a purse of $3.25 million, one of the largest on the LPGA Tour.
