This might be the wildest one yet…
This past weekend, Chase Briscoe secured his spot in the NASCAR Cup Series Championship with an overtime win at Talladega Superspeedway during the YellaWood 500 race. He moved to the lead on the final lap with a push from Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Ty Gibbs, getting ahead of Todd Gilliland, officially joining Denny Hamlin in the Championship 4 going into the final race in the Round of 8 next Sunday at Martinsville Speedway.
Of course, if you’re a NASCAR fan at all, then you know that Talladega Superspeedway is known for its rowdy infield parties, competitive races and total Earnhardt domination for many years, and it’s easily one of, probably the wildest, track on the circuit.
Tons of people camp out, stay up all night, and party… it is ‘Dega, after all. I’ve never gotten to experience in myself, but I’m hopeful I’ll make it there one day for a race because it looks like so much fun.
And because of that, after every race, the track’s social media team takes photos of some of the most outlandish items left behind for everyone to enjoy, and I honestly wonder “how” and “why” when I see most of the items, but at the same time, it’s Talladega, so anything pretty much goes. And I’m sure there’s probably a lot more where all of this came from that wasn’t exactly family friendly for Twitter…
But I truly don’t understand when people leave things like TV’s or nice grills behind, but it seems to happen ever year, so I guess they’re not too worried about it.
Here’s just a few examples of what was left this year:

By far the most insane thing that got left, though, was the mannequin with some, um, strategically placed cheese and a Whiskey Myers sign perfectly placed right in front (they headlined the Saturday night concert prior to the race):
