Rip & Beth ‘Yellowstone’ Spinoff, ‘The Dutton Ranch,’ Confirms New Series Regulars

The cast of The Dutton Ranch is being rounded out.

Are you ready for the release of what’s arguably the most anticipated Yellowstone spinoff that’s out there? It’s frustrating to think that the show was supposed to air its first season at the end of this year, but a delay has pushed it’s premiere back to early 2026.

So we have to wait a little bit longer to see Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler back in action, and while we wait, it’s fun to see how the cast for the spinoff is shaping up. Obviously, Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser will be returning to reprise their respective roles in the new show that’s expected to remain the closest to the feel of the flagship series.

And for fans wondering who else will appear, we already know that at least one actor from Yellowstone will be joining The Dutton Ranch. Deadline reported back in July that Finn Little would be returning to play his character Carter in the series, and that he’d be a regular alongside Reilly and Hauser’s Beth and Rip.

Judging by the show’s official synopsis, the relationship between Beth, Rip and Carter will be critical to the storyline of the series:

“Beth Dutton (Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Hauser) are grateful for the peace they sought, fought, and nearly died for with their 7,000-acre Dutton Ranch. With tough times and stiff competition, Beth and Rip do what they must to survive, all while ensuring Carter (Little) becomes the man he’s supposed to be.”

As for the rest of the cast, A-list actress Annette Bening will be joining the Yellowstone universe, and she’ll be playing a powerful owner of a major Texas ranch named Beulah Jackson. There will also be the addition of Jai Courtney, an Australian actor (known for his roles in The Suicide Squad and The Terminal List) that will be playing an “unpredictable ranch foreman” whose name is “Rob-Will.”

And just yesterday, Variety broke the news that four other series regulars have been confirmed to join the spinoff show. Actors and actresses Natalie Alyn Lind, Marc Menchaca, Juan Pablo Raba, and JR Villarreal have all signed on to be series regulars, and each are expected to play an important role in The Dutton Ranch story.

Lind (The Goldbergs, The Gifted) plays Oreana, who is described to be a “a striking young woman with a wild and free spirit.” Menchaca (Ozark, Dexter: Resurrection) is set to star as Zachariah, “a newly released jailbird trying to rebuild his life as a wrangler and cowboy.”

Raba (Narcos, The 33) will be featured in the show as a character named Joaquin, which is “a worker at a major ranch who fixes problems, big or small.” And Villarreal’s (Landman, Freeridge) role is “a whipcord wrangler and Rip’s right-hand man” named Azul.

Raba was accidentally confirmed when the town of Ferris, Texas, announced that a new Taylor Sheridan show titled Rio Palo was going to be filmed there. As it turns out, it was just a code name for the upcoming Yellowstone spinoff, but a local casting call asked for a Raba lookalike to star in the series.

All of the casting news has been great, but the best bit of information we’ve gotten about The Dutton Ranch? That’d be that showrunner Chad Feehan – who previously worked on Lawmen: Bass Reeves – has been appointed as the showrunner for the Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler spinoff.

I think it’s an excellent decision to give the task to someone familiar with the way Yellowstone-adjacent productions are done, and it will surely help to give the new show that same, incomparable Taylor Sheridan feel.
