What a night.
Back in July, Post Malone became the latest artist to own his own bar in Nashville with the opening of Posty’s, joining the likes of Eric Church, Morgan Wallen, Jason Aldean, Lainey Wilson, Miranda Lambert, Alan Jackson and the seemingly countless number of artists who have opened up bars on Broadway over the past decade.
The bar, which was formerly occupied by Tequila Cowboy (and WannaB’s Karaoke), has been operating for just over three months. With that being said, however, the 26,000 square foot venue – with six bars, three stages, a full-service dining room, a rooftop and the largest ground floor on Broadway – never had a “Grand Opening.”
That all changed Tuesday morning when the venue announced that it would finally be holding its official grand opening on Wednesday, October 8, complete with Post’s wax figure from Madame Tussauds being on display, hand-painted murals at the Broadway entrance of Posty’s for additional photo ops, exclusive merchandise, a ribbon cutting ceremony and most notably, a complete takeover of Broadway for a free performance from the “I Had Some Help Singer.”
With all eyes on Posty’s last night, the Texas native delivered what can only be described as a once-in-a-lifetime performance during the grand opening. Starting the set off strong with Hank Williams Jr.’s “Outlaw Women,” Post proceeded to cover the likes of Brad Paisley’s “Ticks,” Zach Top’s “I Never Lie” and Vince Gill’s “What the Cowgirls Do.”

Not satisfied riding solo, Post then decided to bring out the big guns, calling on the likes of Dierks Bentley, Lainey Wilson and none other than Brooks & Dunn for special guest appearances on Bentley’s “What Was I Thinking,” Post and Lainey’s 2024 collaboration, “Nosedive” and the legendary duo’s classics, “Brand New Man” and “Neon Moon.”
After performing “Brand New Man” to start their appearance off, Post stopped the concert for a moment to thank the duo for being there. Not missing a beat, Kix Brooks immediately replied:
“Why the hell would we not be here tonight?”
Thanking them again, Post told the crowd, “Make some noise for the most legendary motherf******,” before calling upon them to sing one more song — “Neon Moon.”
You can say a lot of things about the current state of artists from other genres diving into country music. However, if it hasn’t become abundantly apparent that Post is a huge fan of not only country music in genre but Nashville, its culture and the legends that came before him, then I’m not sure what else to tell you. I don’t see any other crossover artists putting in this much time and effort down on Broadway while simultaneously showing respect for the greats at every turn.
If you’re a fan of Brooks & Dunn and Post, you won’t want to miss these performances.
