It’s almost done.
Megan Moroney is giving fans a little more insight on the status of her third studio album MM3, which she’s been teasing for a little while and fans have been speculating that she might be announcing a new album sometime soon.
She released her most recent record Am I Okay? last year, so I wouldn’t be surprised at all if we get an official announcement soon, with a new record likely being released in 2026.
Unreleased songs like “Wedding Dress” and “Beautiful Things” have already gotten a lot of attention on social media, and during an interview with CMT this week, Megan revealed that her part in terms of writing and recording the songs is completely done. But of course, a lot more goes into putting out a complete studio album, and it’s still in the process of being mixed and mastered.
She says that part is around 93% done:
“On my end, it’s done. But then it takes a lot. It’s gotta get mixed, it’s gotta get mastered, it takes a whole thing. But I am happy that on my part, it’s 100% done. On everyone else’s part, if it was 80% done before, maybe it’s 93%. That feels right.”
She went onto hint that fans have probably guessed what the album’s color will be now, as she’s been sporting a lot of pastel purple, which she first shared in a photo from her “6 Months Later” cover art:
“No, I think you would be very normal if you were confused. I have been wearing a lot of purple… but it could also mean something else. It could mean something totally different, too. It would be insane to just, like, wear the color right now.”
She’ really hit her stride over the last year or so in terms of putting out music that has really connected with fans, and her songwriting ability seems to only grow with every release so I think this project has the potential to be her best work yet.

Last week, Megan put out her full studio cover of “Who’s Your Daddy?”, which was previously part of the Apple Music Sessions exclusive project that featured Toby Keith covers from other artists like Ella Langley and Riley Green.
She also debuted the full version of the aforementioned “Beautiful Things,” and even got a little bit choked up while singing it, because it’s an extremely personal song Megan wrote for her niece about how hard the world can be on innocent, beautiful things like her.
I think it’s a great and very meaningful message, and I’m looking forward to hearing the studio cut hopefully sooner rather than later:
