Did Nicole Kidman throw shade at Keith Urban during her first public appearance since it became public that the couple are headed for divorce?
I don’t think anyone could have predicted the bombshell news that dropped last week in regards to country music star Keith Urban and his superstar actress wife Nicole Kidman’s split. They had been together for 19 years, and were regarded as a beloved, superstar celebrity couple. But that all came crashing down when Kidman officially filed for divorce on the last day of September.
Obviously it was shocking and seemed sudden to all of us on the outside, but in reality, this high-profile split has been in the works for quite some time. We’ve since found out that Kidman and Urban have really been working out the details of their separation, and have been doing so for quite some time.
Kidman officially filed for divorce in Nashville (Davidson County, to be exact), where the couple lives with their two children – 17-year old Sunday Rose and 14-year old Faith Margaret. Though the documents were just filed at the end of September, the two had already completed a marital dissolution agreement and proposed parenting plan nearly a month ago.
Kidman signed the marital dissolution agreement on September 6, and Urban signed it all the way back on August 29. In the document, which has been reviewed by Whiskey Riff, the parties revealed that they had already split the majority of the personal property, things like household furniture, appliances and art. All that to say that Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman have been busy getting their divorce all lined up and finalized.
It seems like everything is pretty amicable, besides the fact that Keith Urban has been changing some lyrics to avoid mentioning or alluding to Kidman while he tours on his High and Alive Tour.
And in Nicole Kidman’s first public appearance since the news of the divorce broke, the actress may or may not have subtly jabbed at her estranged husband. Kidman produces and stars in the hit Taylor Sheridan show Special Ops: Lioness, and she just recently signed an acting deal to star in the upcoming third season of the show.
Speaking of Taylor Sheridan, the actress presented the Yellowstone creator with the Award for Inspiration while she was in attendance was in attendance at the amFAR’s Dallas auction in Texas this past weekend, which was held to raise money for the nonprofit’s fight against AIDS. A video of Kidman’s award presentation speech captured her saying this before she handed the award over to Sheridan:
“I think what Taylor recognizes, as we all do, is that we are all more alike than we are different, and that we’re better when we look out for each other. That of course is why we are here tonight. What better way to support, to help elevate our common humanity, than to help fund bold and innovative research.”
Obviously, that could very well just be a positive message about the nonprofit organization that she, Sheridan, and many others were there to support.
But the “we’re better when we look out for each other” line comes at a time where the actress could really be feeling some animosity towards the man she just split from after spending 19 years together.
