Eric Church Couldn’t Contain His Excitement As Marcus King Absolutely SHREDS While Joining Him For Duet Of “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”

Marcus King is undoubtedly one of the most talented guitar players in the world right now. Steeped in the southern music tradition, King’s soulful sound is an amalgam of his country, blues, gospel, and southern rock influences, and along with his own incredible music, he often lays down some killer covers during his live shows.

King is currently out on tour with Eric Church, opening for him on select shows on the Free The Machine Tour. And last night, during a show at Rupp Arena in Kentucky, the talented musician joined the Chief on stage where the two teamed up for a mind-blowing cover of a classic from The Beatles.

Church welcomed King out as the two broke into “While My Guitar Gently Weeps,” from the British rock band’s 1968 self-titled album (more commonly known as The White Album). And like everyone else in the arena, Church could barely contain his excitement as King absolutely shredded:

Just as mindblown as the rest of us.

As far as I can tell, this is the first time Church has collaborated with his openers so far on this tour, which has also featured Elle King on select dates and will also include Charles Wesley Godwin at some upcoming shows. But I think I speak for everyone when I say we won’t be disappointed to see more of these two on stage together…especially next Friday when I’ll be at the show in Grand Rapids.

Not that I’m trying to drop any hints or anything…
