Are we sure about that?

Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman’s daughter, Sunday Rose Kidman-Urban, is a young fashion enthusiast pursuing her dreams. Last year, she made her runway debut during Paris Fashion Week. The 16-year-old walked in the Miu Miu show, showcasing their Spring 2025 collection.

“Sunday Rose Kidman-Urban is officially a fashion it-girl. Today, the 16-year-old daughter of Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban made her runway debut at the spring 2025 Miu Miu show.”

The aspiring model chatted with Vogue Magazine before making her runway debut, telling the publication that this was a dream come true.

“I’ve been wanting to do this for so long, so when the offer came through, it was really exciting. And now the day’s finally here.”

Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman were over the moon, beaming with pride as they watched their daughter during this significant moment.

However, the joy was short-lived when Sunday Rose was met with harsh criticism for her walk and lack of experience. Critics said her walk needed a lot of work to keep up with the seasoned veterans who were also featured during the show. Another aspect of criticism she is receiving is that, given the cutthroat nature of this industry, she’s bypassing the hard work and low-level jobs that other models have had to do, as her parents automatically give her a leg up in the industry. The ol’ nepo baby critique…

“To the real models who work so hard to get these coveted jobs…I see you. Sunday Rose may be a sweet kid, but this should never have happened.”

“Literal was so bad I wanted to cry.”

“Do the producers of these shows provide any kind of walking coaching for models? I know most of them don’t need it.”

“This couldn’t highlight nepotism any harder.”

“Why are all celeb kids models regardless of what they look like?”

“What is that tragic walk?”

“So young and so vain, vacuous, entitled, and completely unaware of her own privilege already. Sigh.”

“Oh gawd, get a job… how the hell can she be a model?”

“How the F is she a model?”

Her lack of experience should not warrant all these comments… I mean, she’s a teenager for crying out loud. However, the fact that her parents helped her get a foot in the door to chase her dreams is 100% true. It’s not always a bad thing to have a little help from your parents here and there, but her runway debut would not have been Miu Miu during Paris Fashion Week if it weren’t for the names Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman.

But Sunday Rose seems to tell a different story from her own personal experience at fashion events. Of course, social media comments are one thing, and can really come from anywhere, but Sunday Rose says the people she encounters seem to be very unaware of who are parents are. In a recent interview with Nylon, Sunday Rose reveals that many in her circle meet her without knowing who her parents are.

“When people my age meet me, they normally don’t know anything about my life. Which is sort of wonderful. because I am able to make a first impression based on who I am and not who my family is.”

I feel like a keyword here is “people my age.” Given that Kidman acts in many mature films and movies, I’m not surprised to hear that some teenagers today may not be familiar with Keith Urban. He’s a country music mega-star, and sure, he’s been in the game for a while and might not be chasing young fans on social media like today’s up-and-comers, but he has some classics that are a staple on all country music playlists.

While Sunday Rose feels like she can make a first impression on who she is, that is true among her peers. However, given the major campaigns she’s scored, one has to think that casting directors and talent hiring are aware of who her parents are.

As for the future of Sunday Rose’s fashion endeavors, she shared with Nylon that she’s soaking up every moment of it and taking each opportunity in stride:

“Fashion is so subjective, and everyone has an opinion about everything. The biggest lesson I’ve learned from my experience is to enjoy each moment as it comes, be grateful for the opportunities as I get them, and focus on bettering myself each time I get hired.”

Based on recent posts, it appears that she has improved her skills since her runway debut last year; however, Sunday Rose does appear to turn off many of her comments, which I’m sure is to limit hate, given the backlash she faced after her first walk.
