Luke Bryan Took A Ball To The Face At The North Dakota State Fair, Shook It Off Like A Pro

Luke Bryan ball to face

That’s gonna leave a mark.

Luke Bryan has had a rough go at it as of late. It was back in June (June 19 to be specific) when the 49-year-old country music singer stood in front of a crowd in Arkansas and apologized for his lack of voice. Bryan ultimately decided to finish the show, and generously refunded everyone in attendance. Following that show, Luke Bryan made the tough decision to suspend a portion of his Country Song Came On Tour.

He rescheduled shows in Dallas, Texas and LaFayette, Louisiana that were originally supposed to take place the weekend after his Arkansas show, and then had to also pull out of three different festival shows that he was booked for. Country Stampede, NEBRASKAland and Country Jam Colorado all went on without the singer as he was still on the mend. Eric Church kindly stepped in for Luke during those dates.

For almost a month, Luke Bryan had to step away from the stage. And when he returned early this month, he revealed that it was a pesky case of COVID that caused him to lose his voice and miss time. In fact, he’s still struggling to regain his singing voice, and has leaned on the crowd a lot during many of his July shows to help him through his concerts.

As you can see here:

Recently, Luke Bryan has finally seemed to be getting back into the regular swing of things. But that’s the dangerous thing about life sometimes, right? Just when you get back on your feet, something comes around and hits you smack dab in the middle of the face, just to keep you humble

This time for Luke Bryan… literally.

The epidemic of concert goers throwing things at performers has slowed down, but it hasn’t stopped. We’ve seen plenty of example of country music stars taking one to the chin while up on stage, and for them it’s a little infuriating. Why should they be up on stage and have to worry about getting pelted with something someone throws from the audience?

Bryan was playing “Country Girl” for his encore at the North Dakota State Fair when an unidentified flying object (it looks like a ball of some sort) came soaring through the air and smacked him right in the face. Impressively, the 49-year-old country star took the hit like a champ, and he got right back into the song after taking a second to recover.

Not sure why fans feel the need to hurl things at their favorite artists like this:

Gotta keep your head on a swivel out there. Luke Bryan learned that the hard way… but he did handle it surprisingly well. After powering through his “summer chest cold” and taking a ball to noggin’ like that, you can’t say that the “That’s My Kind Of Night” singer isn’t tough…

You can see him give a laugh to the crowd after it, but he definitely looked pretty mad about it…. we gotta stop this stuff, people.

Here’s another angle:
