Swifties Are Going WILD For One Particular Scene In ‘Happy Gilmore 2,’ & You Already Know Why

Travis Kelce

Happy Gilmore 2 is finally here, and it’s already delivered a scene that’s making the Swifties collectively swoon.

Back in April of 2024, Adam Sandler revealed that a sequel to the 1990’s classic Happy Gilmore was in the works. Though some were concerned that a continuation of Happy’s story would potentially take away from the first film, others were over the moon thinking about the possibility of seeing everyone’s favorite amateur-professional golfer back on the big screen (or however big your TV screen is at home).

And the early reviews of the film have been mixed (audiences seem to like it more than critics), so more time is needed to discern if the sequel lived up to the original.

But if you are looking for a nostalgia trip, it’s all you could ever want. Adam Sandler reprised his role Happy, while Christopher McDonald – who was the first person to spill the beans about the sequel – also returned to play the iconic sports villain Shooter McGavin. Other actors and actresses that were in the original – like Ben Stiller and Julie Bowen – also stepped back into their Happy Gilmore roles.

Early on in the film’s development, it was clear that the comedic film would feature a plethora of high-profile cameos. Eminem, Jack Nicklaus, Bad Bunny, and sports radio host Dan Patrick – who has been known to drop in for small roles on Adam Sandler projects – all showed their face in the sequel. And professional golfers Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka, Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth, Rickie Fowler, and many others – including the legendary John Daly – were also included.

But out of all the cameos that were featured, the one that arguably stole the most scenes was Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

The footballer plays a hotel employee, and he really holds his own acting wise in a movie that’s got plenty of experienced veterans. And Swifties are liking one particular scene that’s Kelce is in… mainly because it features him a) without a shirt on and b) getting honey smothered all over his body.

To avoid any spoilers in case you are planning on streaming the Happy Gilmore sequel this weekend, I’ll just say that Bad Bunny’s character Oscar – who plays Gilmore’s caddie in the film – is seen going to his “Happy Place.” And that place in his head just so happens to be a world where Travis Kelce’s character is tied up to a pole, so that Bunny’s Oscar can smother him in honey… and feed him to a hungry bear.

What else do you really expect from an Adam Sandler movie?

Wonder why that’s firing up the Swifties (in a good way) so much? I just can’t put my finger on it.

I also can’t imagine how Travis Kelce’s significant other, Taylor Swift, felt about the scene. Maybe we’ll get to hear from her about it at one point, but for now, it’s all of her fanbase that’s showing the love and ogling a honey-lathered Travis Kelce:

If I had to guess, the verdict is about Happy Gilmore 2 from Taylor Swift fans: they love it. From what I hear, the movie is filled with plenty of memorable scenes… but Bad Bunny using Travis Kelce as a canvas seems to be the one that sticks out the most. It’s definitely outrageous, which is par for the course for a Sandler movie.
