So Shedeur Sanders wasn’t treating himself?
Yesterday, the former Colorado Buffalo and now current Cleveland Brown wanted to get out in front of a rumor that he had bought himself an incredibly nice car with the entirety of his NFL signing bonus. In case you were living under a rock during the 2025 NFL Draft, Shedeur Sanders was FINALLY drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round with the 144th pick.
Following the end of the college football season, Sanders was a lock by many draft analysts to not only be a first round pick… but a top 10 pick.
Only time will tell if the Cleveland Browns – who don’t have the best track record when it comes to drafting quarterbacks and having them become successful – have success with the dual threat quarterback. Maybe Shedeur Sanders can change that trend though… especially with how fired up he’ll be to prove himself after the unprecedented slide. I’m sure at one point, he was just happy to have his named called at the draft.
At the very least, the son of the great Deion Sanders certainly wants to maintain a specific image of himself as he heads into his NFL career. That’s why when a rumor started swirling that he blew all of his signing bonus (and then some) on a customized Rolls-Royce valued at over $500,000, Shedeur made a point to clear the air.
Here’s the post that got viewed almost 4 million times which shows the green luxury vehicle being unloaded into a driveway while it seems as though Shedeur Sanders is on FaceTime making sure that the vehicle was delivered:
Love that the above NFL account labeled the video as “inspirational,” knowing damn well that this was a post to bait football fans into rolling their eyes about the Rolls-Royce delivery. Take a quick dip into the reply section of that post and you’ll see that not many people on social media found that post inspiring.
That clip was posted over the weekend and quickly started spreading online. It was a day later when the Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback took to his official X account to quote the video and put the rumor that he had bought himself a nice, fancy car to rest. Shedeur stated that the Rolls-Royce purchase speculation was a lie, and that he had other things on his mind:
“Another lie… I’m focused on my team, not a car purchase!”
So there you have it. Shedeur Sanders didn’t buy himself a Rolls-Royce.
(Puts on tin-foil hat)
Or, did Shedeur actually buy himself the car, only to realize that it was probably a bad look for a 5th round QB who isn’t even guaranteed a starting spot to make such a flashy purchase? Sanders could certainly afford the vehicle with all of the other revenue streams he has coming in outside of his NFL paycheck. That is if he wanted to buy it.
(Takes off tin-foil hat)
For now, I’ll take Shedeur Sanders at his word and believe that he didn’t have a Rolls-Royce custom built and delivered to his home. However, it was delivered to the Sanders home. Deion Jr. accepted the delivery and was Facetiming with Shedeur when it arrived, but it’s unclear who the car was actually for. Seems like it might be Deion Jr.’s.
Shedeur also said he wanted a Rolls Royce Cullinan in a conversation with his father and the GOAT, Tom Brady… this is a different model.
