Maren Morris Slams “Fake Liberal Men” Who Pose As Progressives To Get Matches On Dating Apps

Rough out there, eh?

Maren Morris is back in the dating game after her divorce from Ryan Hurd was finalized last year. The singer made headlines last summer when she came out as bisexual, revealing in an Instagram post during pride month that she was “happy to be the B in LGBTQ+.”

But she had previously said that she wasn’t in a hurry to jump back in a relationship after her divorce, saying that she was going to take some time for herself:

“I feel like for so long, just being an artist and taking care of a lot of people on the road, you get so used to being the boss. I sort of lost sight of truly taking care of myself. I feel like this is just a perfect moment for me to make that statement.”

And she also revealed the lofty requirements she has for a future partner:

“I think pouring myself into another person is probably not a healthy way of going about things. I think it shifts the expectations and power and entitlement a lot. I just have to put 100 percent into myself, and you truly have to be a spectacularly impressive individual to add something to my life because — and I don’t mean to sound full of myself — but the life that I’ve built, I am really, really happy with.”

Oh, and of course you have to be a liberal.

Maren is one of the most outspoken Democrats in the country music world (although she says she’s not a country singer anymore), even performing at the Democrat National Convention when Kamala Harris was formally nominated for president. And she’s frequently gotten into social media spats with conservative artists like Jason Aldean, who’s an outspoken Trump supporter.

But apparently Maren’s having a hard time finding a man who agrees with her politically.

During a recent interview with The Cut, Maren slammed what she calls the “new mutant strain of fake liberal men,” who she claims “pose as progressive dudes on dating apps.”

Of course men voted overwhelmingly for Donald Trump in the 2024 election. Trump won in the male demographic by 12 points, and even won the young male vote, which has typically skewed more liberal. He won males age 45-64 by a whopping 20%. And among males 65 and older, a demographic that Democrats hoped to win by warning senior citizens that Trump was a threat to Social Security, he still had a 13-point advantage in the final election results.

So it shouldn’t really be a surprise that most of the men that Maren’s running into on dating apps aren’t as woke as she wants them to be. Then again I’m not sure that there are many dudes who are woke enough for Maren.

It’s also interesting that these conservative dudes are, supposedly, posing as liberal on dating apps. I guess they’re not as concerned with finding someone whose politics don’t align with theirs as Maren is. Maybe it’s a guy thing, or maybe liberals just can’t put politics aside in their relationships like conservatives can?
