Awkward…
Legendary NFL coach Bill Belichick has gotten a lot of attention lately, not only because he’s coaching college football for the first time after taking the job as head coach at UNC, but for his (much) younger new girlfriend, Jordon Hudson.
There’s a 48-year age difference between the 73-year old coach and the 24-year old former cheerleader, who reportedly met on a flight a few years ago and kept in touch after striking up a conversation. (What could they possibly have to talk about? Who knows).
Of course there have been plenty of jokes about the age gap, with Snoop Dogg even joking about it right in front of the couple during his opening monologue at this year’s NFL Honors ceremony:
“I’ve been a football fan for a long, long time. I mean, I remember back when the Cowboys was good. I remember when the Chiefs was bad. And I remember, what was it, Bill Belichick’s girlfriend wasn’t even born yet.”
But Hudson seems to have been able to loosen the grumpy old coach up a little bit, sharing photos on their Instagram of the couple dressed up for Halloween and doing beach yoga together in the sand:
And she’s apparently even helping Belichick out in his new job. Recently-released emails showed that Belichick had asked UNC staff members to copy Hudson on emails to him so she could help the team out with social media, and Hudson expressing her concerns with comments about their relationship on the team’s social media posts:
“Is there anyone monitoring the UNC Football page for slanderous commentary and subsequently deleting it/blocking users that are harassing BB in the comments?”
The next day, Belichick added:
“I cannot believe that UNC would support my being called a ‘predator.’”
Hudson has also been spotted helping out at UNC football practice, which led to a lot of comments – and some concerns from Tar Heel fans:

But as much concern as Hudson apparently has about how their relationship is portrayed on social media, she doesn’t really seem to be interested in talking about it publicly – or allowing Belichick to talk about it.
The legendary coach sat down today for an interview with CBS Sunday Morning, an interview during which Hudson was for some reason also involved in as she sat off to the side.
And when interviewer Tony Dokoupil asked how the couple met, Hudson quickly chimed in from off camera to shut it down:
“We’re not talking about this.”
It was an incredibly awkward moment that seemed to catch the interviewer off guard, and when Dokoupil asked about the photos of their relationship that Hudson shared on social media, Belichick didn’t seem interested in discussing that either:
“I’m on some of those social media platforms, but I honestly don’t follow them.”
It wasn’t intentional, but the whole exchange was an eye-opening look into the relationship between the two – and it quickly raised some red flags for folks on social media:
