Good thing he’s going to Nashville…
Last night, the first round of the NFL draft got underway, with many prospects gathered in Green Bay, Wisconsin for the first time, where the event was held at Lambeau Field. The Tennessee Titans drafted former Miami quarterback Cam Ward first overall, as expected.
He was a heck of a college player, and I’m sure will make an immediate impact on a Titans team that sorely needs a fresh starter at the position and hopefully for Titans fans, Cam will be that guy and everything they’re hoping for in a franchise quarterback. Of course, with Cam being the number one overall pick, he’s known he’s headed to Nashville for a while now, and that has to be comforting because many players that were drafted later in the first round, and as we go into rounds two through seven, have on clue what city they’ll be moving to make their NFL dreams come true.
And even though Ward is heading to a team that obviously has a lot of work to do to start winning games, at least he’s going to a fun city and not somewhere like Cleveland, Ohio… no offense to Cleveland, I’ve never been there so I could be totally off, but I needed to pick on somebody. But let’s be honest, we all know Cleveland’s reputation.
During his post-draft press conference, Ward was asked about his music taste seeing as he’s going to Music City, and as it turns out, he’s a BIG Morgan Wallen fan:
“Big Morgan Wallen guy. ‘Last Night’ is probably my number one song by him, I like ‘Love Somebody,’ and the last one… I can’t remember what it was, I’ll have to go through my Spotify playlist. But Morgan Wallen, he’s cool.”
Morgan shared the video on his own Instagram stories, saying:
“Welcome to Tennessee Cam, let’s get it!”
People can have very strong opinions about country music one way or the other, so it’s good to hear Cam likes it because he’s going to be hearing a LOT of it very soon:
Fans in the comments section of the above post were not loving Cam’s taste in music, and there were some pretty funny comments:
“Forget Morgan… throw some TDs and don’t do the Will Levis.”
“Mannnnn never mind. I thought he was cool.”
“Despite this, still like the guy.”
“Oh he has trash taste in music.”
“Man somebody PLEASE show this man some real music.”
“We don’t do Morgan Wallen here Cam.”
“Cam Just please understand Nashville ain’t Country. Broadway is country.”

“I guess he likes the trap beat ones trash fan he is.”

There were some other fans who said this made them like Cam more, and that’s pretty much how it goes when you bring up the ever-polarizing Morgan Wallen.
Cam named some of Morgan’s biggest, most recent hits as his tops songs, so he might not even really listen to him that much, but there’s so much other good country music to discover and he’ll be in a great place to do that now.
