Kevin Spacey is slowly returning to the public eye…
Back in 2017, Spacey was accused of numerous counts of sexual misconduct, which lead to multiple criminal investigations and a blacklisting from acting roles because, well, quite honestly the reports sounded pretty bad. However, he steadfastly denied the allegations and was found not liable in a New York lawsuit and was acquitted by a jury in London.
The legal clearing of his name hasn’t lead the once A-list actor back to his former heights but he’s been slowly attempting to get back out there over the past few years. Along with some roles in lower profile films, he appeared on a podcast with Tucker Carlson in late 2023, on the Lex Fridman Podcast in June of 2024, and now has teamed up with one of my all-time favorite comedians to help promote his latest comedy special.
Tim Dillion’s newest comedy special, I’m Your Mother, is now streaming on Netflix and to help get the news out to the masses, he recruited Kevin Spacey to make a skit video that was just posted on socials.
Spacey plays Frank Underwood, his iconic character from the hit series House Of Cards, which unveiled a dramatized (probably?) behind-the-scenes look at the ins and outs of the American political system. While the series was interrupted by Spacey’s legal troubles, it remains one of the greatest Netflix original series, with an 8.6 rating on IMDB and a 76% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes (though I believe both of those were higher before Spacey was forced out and the plotline thrown into chaos). Spacey and the show were nominated for five straight Primetime Emmy Awards, for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series and Outstanding Drama series, respectively.
In typical Tim Dillon fashion, the promo video pokes fun at the madness of American culture, especially the rise of podcasters, weird ad reads, and the fact that what people used to sweep under the rug has become “content” in this weird, online centered world:

I actually laughed out loud at “The Daily Wire’s new musical?”
Without question, I’ll be making the wife watch I’m Your Mother tonight, though she’s way more offline than me (which I’m very jealous of honestly) so I’ll probably have to pause and explain some things to her. Okay, she probably won’t get any of the jokes but I’m sure going to love it…
Here’s the teaser for Tim Dillion’s new comedy special:
Before Spacey’s fall from grace, he was known for roles in some truly incredible movies, such as Usual Suspects, A Time To Kill, American Beauty, and Margin Call.
His first job after the allegations was in The Man Who Drew God (2022) as a police detective. He followed that up by starring in Once Upon A Time in Croatia (2022), Control (2023), and Peter Five Eight (2024). None of these have made much of a splash outside of the film scene, though it’s probably just a matter of time before some Hollywood studio gives him another chance in a big time production.
Regardless, Tim Dillion and Frank Underwood are an absolutely perfect match and while I was surprised at first to see Spacey in this skit, after thinking about it for just a few seconds, it made perfect sense.
Nothing is off-limits for Tim Dillion and we’re all better off because of it.
