Sometimes, dreams do come true… kind of.

At an event in Toronto yesterday hosted by New York Times bestselling author Abby Jimenez for her book Say You’ll Remember Me, thousands of women packed into a huge event space to hear her talk about the book and writing process, in addition to answering questions from the crowd. She’s a romance novelist, and I won’t lie and say I haven’t read a romance novel here and there, but I have some friends who love them and the genre has a sort of cult following… all that to say, these women take it very seriously, so this honestly couldn’t have played out any better.

During the event, the fire alarm started going off, and eventually the fire trucks showed up and the firemen made their entrance to a room full of hundreds of women who have probably dreamed of this day many times… the video has gone mega viral on TikTok, and now has over three million views.

You simply couldn’t draw it up any better… the reaction when they walk into the room is priceless:

The author, Abby, shared a video from her perspective, assuring everyone online that they were “not paid actors” and this was one hundred percent real:

“We had the fire alarm go off midway through our event, and then a bunch of hot firemen showed up… they were not actually paid actors, but we would’ve paid them because it was beyond amazing and I can’t wait to see all the videos everybody posts because it was nothing but cameras in that crowd.”

Of course, the comments section remained undefeated, and you simply can’t make stuff like this up:

“I bet those men are more nervous walking into that room than any fire.”

“At least one of those men manifested this scenario.”

“Alright fess up, who pulled the fire alarm.”

“Smile and wave boys, smile and wave.”

“This is hilarious… they found a herd of booktok girls in the wild.”

“SHE NEEDS TO WRITE A BOOK LIKE THIS NOW.”

“Hot firefighter x book girl. Ok.”

“That one firefighter shaking his head like ‘Nope my wife reads these books, I know exactly what all these ladies are thinking.'”

“Firefighters showing up to a romance book event is SOO UNSERIOUS. I can’t.”

“The only danger room they were never prepared for.”

“Booktok girlies were fed that day.”

“Dude these men don’t understand the LORE.”

“They’re like ‘Is this play about us?'”

“Those men were terrified.”

“Straight out of my firefighter books.”

“Me anytime a firefighter walks into a room.”

“It’s either their wildest imagination or worst nightmare.”

Safe to say, Abby’s next book will probably have a firefighter lead, and she didn’t even have to look too hard for some real life inspiration.
