Even in the midst of The Grandaddy of Them All, there’s always time for a little bit of fun.
While walking onto the course today, Jordan Spieth pull an all-time classic dude move while high-fiving some fans.
It’s possible, heck even probable, that he knows this guy because honestly I don’t know how you’d do this to some complete stranger, but Spieth did a quick little cup check on an older gentleman just trying to dap him up this morning.

Honestly, if he just nut-shotted some random dude there to watch the Masters for the first time in his life that would be absolutely hilarious… Hopefully someone asks him about it soon so we can get the whole story but it is funny timing coming off some comments he made yesterday.
Jordan Spieth Is Concerned About Mud Balls
After Spieth shot a bogey free 69 (nice) on Saturday, he spoke to the media about the taboo subject of mud balls. For the uninitiated, it’s just when some dirt or mud gets stuck to a ball on the course, which can obviously affect the striking and trajectory.
Golfweek quoted him as saying:
“My iron play killed me the last two days, and to be brutally honest with you, it was primarily mud balls… It’s just so frustrating because you can’t talk about them here. You’re not supposed to talk about them. Mud balls can affect this tournament significantly, especially when you get them a lot on 11 and 13. They’re just daggers on those two holes.
They’ve done a better job – there’s like less than normal, but I still had them today on those holes, too. I had them yesterday on those holes. It’s something to pay attention to for sure for leader groups, because you just have to play so far away from trouble or lay up when you’d normally go for it, just random stuff, because it will affect it significantly. And if you’re on the wrong side of the hole, you’re either in the water or you almost can’t make par depending on what hole it is.”
Obviously, the groundskeepers at Augusta have to be less than pleased to hear someone of Spieth’s stature talking about what can be perceived as a flaw on the course. Granted, when you’re playing a game that involves, grass, dirt, water, and sand, and takes place completely outside, there’s going to be some natural elements at play, but you don’t really want to talk down on the hallowed grounds the Masters takes place on.
Regardless, pretty hilarious timing to pull a ball-tap the day after talking mud balls…
