Megan Moroney Says “Get Me To God’s Country” Ahead Of Tennessee Shows, & Fans Think Morgan Wallen Might Show Up

Megan Moroney and Morgan Wallen

Well played, Megan. Well played.

Of course, we’ve all seen the viral memes that of blown up as a result of Morgan Wallen’s now-famous Saturday Night Live exit a couple weeks ago, where he didn’t stick around for the typical ‘Goodbyes’ segment, but rather made a beeline for the exit and got out of New York City as quickly as possible after his obligations as the musical guest were fulfilled.

Not long after, Morgan posted an Instagram story of his plane with the caption:

“Get Me To God’s Country.”

Which added fuel to the fire, so to speak, in terms of people thinking something had happened during the week that caused tension, especially considering Morgan had been the musical guest before, participated in a sketch, and stuck around during the credits to talk to the other cast and crew.

TMZ spoke to a source close to Wallen about the incident, who said that Morgan meant nothing by his exit and he “entered and exited” the studio the same way he did in rehearsal and camera blocking all week, though there have been tons of theories on what happened and endless comments from executives of the network, and even some of the lead cast members.

We’ll probably never get the full story or truth, but even Morgan’s former fling and fellow country star Megan Moroney took a chance to jump on the viral meme, sharing a video on TikTok from one of her recent concerts performing “Bless Your Heart,” along with the “Get me to God’s country” caption since she’s heading to Nashville and Knoxville on tour next:

Fans in the comments went crazy, especially considering Morgan and Megan did have some sort of something going on in the past, though never dated “exclusively,” she revealed on the Call Her Daddy podcast a while back.

I’m sure it’s just in good fun since the trend is all over social media, but I’m sure she also knows it will get people talking, and it certainly did. Some think Morgan might even show up:

“MEGAN USING MORGAN TERMS?!”

“MEGAN REFERENCING MORGAN WHATTTT.”

“I HAVE NO ONE TO TALK TO ABOUT THIS.”

“The Morgan quote.”

“MORGAN REFERENCE ?????”

“Morgan and Megan collab confirmed?”

“Girrrrlllll…. We all know what you’re doing!”

“This girl knows what she is doing and I’m here for it.”

“MEGAN DON’T PLAY WITH MEEE.”

“WAIT THIS IS CRAZY MEGAN HAHAHA.”

“NOBODY GETS THIS OMG.”

“I’M LITERALLY LOSING IT! MORGAN REFERENCE????”

“Bring back this couple.”

“Oh my GOD.”

“Nobody understands how big this is to me omg.”

“WHAT DOES THIS MEAN.”

“This is my Roman Empire.”

Megan has said the two are still just friends, so I wouldn’t read too much into it, but it still makes for a great viral moment, which is the name of the game these days in the music business.
