Yikes…
American Idol is back for its 23rd season, and of course, country music’s own Carrie Underwood, a former American Idol winner herself, is a judge alongside Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie.
There’s been a handful of very moving performances already this season, and Carrie has been familiar with the Kleenex box. Lionel revealed that Carrie has been having a hard time saying “no” to some of the contestants at the auditions (which is honestly the best part of the show).
He says they started off strong with a lot of “yes” and people going to Hollywood, but it was obviously only a matter of time until they were going to have to start turning people down:
“I have to tell you, Carrie’s biggest nightmare was, as long as you can say, ‘Oh my God, you go through! Oh my God, you go through! Fantastic! Oh, you go through!’ We were waiting, because she’s gotta tell someone ‘No.’ and she almost had a nervous breakdown.
I’m telling you, she said, ‘Oh, he’s so cute.’ I said, ‘Carrie, do what you have to do.’ ‘She’s so nice.’ ‘Carrie, do what you have to do.’ And then finally she said, ‘I’m gonna have to tell you…. no. Not right now. Not now.’”
Ahead of tonight’s episode, she shared a video of her keying a red truck, an obvious nod to her 2006 hit single “Before He Cheats,” but given what’s going on with Tesla vandalism right now, probably not the best time to be talking about keying cars, right?
She captioned the video with:
“Ladies, don’t do this. You’ll ruin your car key.”

It didn’t take long for people to run to the comments and call on Carrie to “read the room” regarding the video.
Of course, Tesla dealerships, charging stations and the owners of the vehicles themselves have come under attack from lunatic liberals who are angry about Elon Musk’s connection to Donald Trump and the Republican Party.
While Musk is also fulfilling his duties as the CEO of SpaceX and the owner of Twitter/X, the billionaire is also heading up Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which is tasked with reducing government spending, eliminating waste, and shrinking the size of government. A policy that most Americans fully support.

Carrie and her fellow judges, as well as American Idol host Ryan Seacrest, eventually wound up taking a bat to the truck, which Tesla stuff aside, also angered fans. A number of people also commented that the truck could’ve been donated to a person in need and was senselessly destroyed.

Destroying cars is certainly a hot button issue right now, but I think it’s safe to say that we could probably do without American Idol encouraging it. Like most said in the comments… read the room, guys.
Obviously, Carrie and American Idol have no ill intent directed towards Elon Musk or Tesla, and this stunt was probably planned for months and filmed well before any of this Tesla mess began, but it’s just not a good look right now when hyper-woke, mentally ill, clowns are running around the country lighting cars on fire, vandalizing dealerships, and destroying people’s property. It would’ve been easy to cut out…
And here’s the kicker… imagine how many Kamala Harris-voting liberals bought a Tesla to reduce their carbon footprint and “save the planet,” only to find out some bozo keyed it in the Whole Foods parking lot? It’s just absurd…
