Feels a little hypocritical.
Morgan Wallen’s ex and the mother of his son, Indigo, is feeling the heat from social media right now. KT Smith recently sat down with Jelly Roll’s wife, Bunnie Xo, for an episode of the Dumb Blonde Podcast, discussing her relationship with Morgan Wallen now, co-parenting with him, and the news of her filing for divorce from her current husband, Luke Scornavacco.
The internet was shocked to see that these two were splitting after nine months of marriage, given the happy image they portrayed on social media. While this is a perfect example of never believing everything you see online, when KT opened up about this topic on Bunnie’s podcast, the internet was stunned to hear the “why” behind filing.
Of course, this is the first real long form, sit down interview with Morgan Wallen’s baby mama, so it was quite the eye-opening conversation. Viewers’ main takeaway from the viral social media clip of the interview was that Luke’s career in social media was the driving force behind filing.
Throughout our relationship, I just had issues with certain things, and like, we both did social media, and that’s basically I feel like impossible for two people to both do that career and for it to be lasting. For me, like I had said earlier, I want to be in a soft girl era and not feel like I have to take care of so much.
But I was taking care of the bills, all of the bills except for half the rent, and that’s just also who I am as a person. Like, I offered to do it, but then it gets to a point where it’s like, I don’t wanna have to hold everything together. Take care of the chickens and do manly things like that, lawn work and all that stuff.
The social media thing was kind of an ick for me, and that was my fault for getting into it knowing that he did that.”
While KT did admit that some of her “ick” surrounding social media comes from her past trauma from her relationship with Morgan Wallen and the concern that Luke was getting validation from women online.
“Okay, the ick does come from a past trauma and I didn’t want Luke to feel like, get all of his validation from all these strangers and women on the internet and then it turn into what it did in my prior relationship. And secretly, I guess I was scared of that. Guys hurt so much different, once they’re hurt once, they kind of build up a wall. So once we announced that we’re getting divorced, I was like hey, let’s work on things.”
KT later said that divorce is still up in the air (kinda sounds like her filing was a test for him), but she’s hoping they can work on things and stay together. Given the issues they’ve had, it sounds like divorce might be the path they are headed down. While KT was vulnerable opening up about the personal details of her relationship, her logic for what led them to divorce was met with a lot of backlash from social media users.
Many comments left on the video noted how hypocritical it was for saying Luke’s social media career gave her the “ick” when it’s the same career that she does. She was also slammed for marrying him, knowing that it bothered her. It’s not like he was hiding that he makes money off TikTok…
She also alluded to having to take care of too much at home, and contributing more than her fair share financially to the marriage, which didn’t sit right with some of the podcast listeners. I mean, I hate to break it to you, but you’ll be taking care of your home and paying for bills when you’re single too. And you’ll be doing it alone. Either way, it sounded like odd grounds for a divorce.
Check out what the people have to say.
“She’s the problem.”
“LMAO she says Luke’s ‘not manly’ yet he got a job in construction for her because he knew she felt that way which she then wanted him to quit because he was gone too much LOL.”
“Why marry someone 8 years younger without a job if you want them to contribute financially?”
“Wait… so she got married knowing she disliked all of these things about him and then decided she wanted a divorce because he wouldn’t completely change who he is as a person. What in the world.”
“I swear Luke dodged a bullet with this one.”
“Hates social media but complaining about life problems on social media.”
“Don’t see him as manly ?!?? Wow… that’s pretty harsh…”
“She doesn’t have a clue what she actually wants.”
“I think the best thing for Luke is to finish the divorce. Regardless of the trauma, she seems toxic. She doesn’t know what she wants and that’s not fair to either of them.”
“Says social media is ick while being on a podcast.”
“Nothing about this is making her look good at all. On top of seemingly emasculating Luke.”
“I feel like she’s the gas lighter and manipulative person in the relationship. She’s definitely the problem.”
“She has a pattern of diving into deep relationships, idealizes them, then disengages quickly. Seems like it’s either validation-seeking, attachment issues, or fear of true intimacy. Feel bad for Luke!”
“She can’t constantly throw out the word divorce and expect him to feel secure enough to work on a marriage that in her eyes is so easily thrown away.”
“The fact it’s an ICK while making it her own career is insane to me.”

It does feel a little hypocritical for her to shame him for this career choice and then make money off a podcast that will be blasted all over social media. She also later used Morgan Wallen’s song “I’m The Problem” to respond to a few of the comments left on the post, noting that it seems like this relationship is ending due to her actions.
