The definition of “go big or go home”
Country music star Lainey Wilson was recently engaged to her boyfriend Devlin “Duck” Hodges, former NFL player, and people have been gushing ever since.
She posted on instagram as the reveal, with gorgeous photos where Hodges he was on one knee on a porch, which was revealed to be the former home of George Jones. How perfect. He nailed every last detail down to the ring box, being shaped as a cowboy hat.
Lainey shares a lot about herself and is pretty easy to pin down when it comes to her personality and style. So everything about the moment shared just seemed perfect for her. But the absolute STAR of the show would have to be the ring. She set a pretty high bar for him, explaining in interviews and podcasts that she wanted to be “walkin’ with a limp,” she made it clear she was ready for the ring:

From the pictures and clips that we got from Lainey’s post, it is no doubt that her man did NOT disappoint. Boy, did he deliver. The details were unclear, but it could be seen from miles away and she was for sure walking with a limp.
Since then, we have been blessed by the jeweler, Hollie Winter Fine Jewelry, that posted a close up video of the showstopping ring. This isn’t your average celebrity engagement ring, it’s a monument. Shiny as all get out, her ring features three massive stones (each coming in around 2.5 carats people think), of all different sizes, and set in a stunning yellow gold flower-like shape that gives off her perfect western vibes.
The side profile reveals the scatter of diamonds and there are so many that it is impossible to count. Like Lainey herself said, “I didn’t care what it looked like, I just didn’t want to be able to lift my hand”. Mission accomplished.
The girls on the internet can’t handle it (and neither can I). Some jewelers who reacted perfectly summed up the general mood:

I don’t think Lainey is showing off, it is definitely well-deserved by someone who has worked her tail off to become one of country’s biggest stars. I love that she knew exactly what she wanted, and that Duck went above and beyond.
And lots of people are making videos reacting to the piece, and talking about it, all while listening to “4X4XU,” a tune from her most recent album which is written about Duck and her love for him.
