Time to put a ring on it…

Last night, Lainey Wilson attended the Grammy Awards, where she was nominated for Best Country Album for her 2024 record Whirlwind, though Beyoncé ultimately took that one home for Cowboy Carter. Lainey also performed a tribute to the late Quincy Jones with a rendition of “Let the Good Times Roll.”

She had a huge year last year, and even though she didn’t win anything this time, it looked like she had a great time all weekend during different events leading up to the show. Her look for the event was simple and classy, and she looked beautiful as always:

But it was a different post on Instagram, where earlier in the weekend Lainey wore an all white outfit drenched in fringe, along with her signature cowboy hat, which I thought was so elevated and stunning… and I certainly wasn’t the only one who thought that. Fans noticed that Lainey’s longtime boyfriend Devlin “Duck” Hodges left a cheeky comment on her post, saying:

“Gosh dang…. This is what you look like in white?!”

Of course, that sent the comments section into a frenzy, with fans speculating the pair might already be engaged, while others encouraged him to “put a ring on it” if he wants so see more.

Here are the photos:

Fans responded directly to his comment, saying:

“Put a ring on it and you will see more “

“Put a ring on it!”

“Now she just needs a ring.”

“Better git on it, bud.”

“Yep. It’s time.”

“Put a ring on it and you’ll find out!!”

“MARRY HER”

“PUT A RANG ON IT”

I think some of these comments might be fueled by something Lainey said last year, when during an interview with Bunnie XO (podcaster and wife of Jelly Roll) ahead of her New Year’s Eve performance, Lainey opened up about her 2025 relationship goals with Duck.

Bunnie asked her about a ring, and Lainey joked that she “might have to propose to him” because she’s just waiting on a proposal from her longtime boyfriend:

“No pressure, brother. No pressure. I might have to propose to him. We waiting.”

Sounds to me like she’s more than ready to say yes… which should take a lot of pressure off for Duck, who was a four-year starter at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama before being signed as an undrafted free agent by the Steelers in 2019. He was named the starter during the 2019 season when Mason Rudolph went down with an injury, going 3-3 as a starting quarterback before being waived by the Steelers and signed to the practice squad prior to the 2020 season.

Lainey actually penned a love song about him called “4X4XU” on Whirlwind, which is a rare glimpse into her true love for him and their relationship in general. Lainey has said several times before that before Duck, she never wrote love songs because she didn’t have anyone she really wanted to write them about, and it’s exciting that she seems to have finally found someone who was worth waiting for.

Who knows… maybe a proposal is coming soon, or maybe… it already happened.
