Making it right for the fans.
Over the weekend, Parker McCollum got sick during a show in State College, Pennsylvania, which was part of the first weekend of his What Kinda Man tour. He had to run offstage during a song because he knew he was about to get very sick, and wound up canceling the rest of the show because he was too ill to continue.
He did refund all the tickets and promised to return sometime this year for the full concert, and to his credit, Parker really tried to get through the concert, and even the crowd noticed he wasn’t feeling well.
Yesterday, Parker shared a lengthy update on what exactly happened, explaining that he’d “never” had to walk off in the middle of a show like that before, adding how thankful he was for his fans understanding. Parker also said he didn’t even make it to his bus before he got sick, saying he was “in the bushes for about 10 minutes.”
Yeah, he was down bad, but he has apologized profusely that night, and many times since, and I think fans are more than understand of the situation.
And this afternoon, Parker shared an update on Instagram with the official rescheduled date, and the concert will take place on October 2nd, with a “whole new show,” openers and set list:
“Hey guys, just a quick update. I wanna let you guys know, we have officially rescheduled the show that we had to end early this past weekend at State College, Penn State. The rescheduled date is October 2nd. It’ll be new openers, new production, whole new whole new show, but that’ll be October 2nd.
If you would like to come to that show, your ticket that you already purchased will be honored for the new date, so looking forward to seeing all you guys on October 2nd. Just wanted to give y’all an update, let you guys know we will be coming back. We’ll we make it up to you guys, so your tickets will be honored and that’ll be October 2nd.
Can’t wait to be there. Again, so sorry about what happened this past weekend, getting back to 100% and leaving for the road tomorrow, but I will see you October 2nd at State College and looking forward to it.”
Of course, if you’re still wanting to attend, your ticket from the previous show will still be honored for this new one in October:
