We didn’t even make it a day into Donald Trump’s new term before liberals started accusing someone on his team of being a Nazi.
Despite the fact that Trump and the GOP have been criticized by liberals for their support of Israel, it’s pretty much expected at this point that they’ll also be accused of being Nazis, like when Democrats freaked out over the Trump campaign holding a rally at Madison Square Garden – because the historic building hosted a Nazi rally back in 1939.
But the latest hysteria came after billionaire Tesla founder and close Trump supporter Elon Musk gave a speech at the inaugural parade held at Capital One Arena following the swearing in ceremony. During the speech, while standing behind the presidential podium, Musk made an awkward gesture that the left quickly claimed was a Nazi salute.
During his speech, Elon thanked the crowd for supporting Trump and then made a gesture like he was “giving his heart” to the crowd:
“Thank you for making it happen. Thank you, my heart goes out to you.”
Video of the gesture quickly went viral as the media and liberals (but I repeat myself) accused Elon of signaling his support for Hitler to the crowd:
Of course as many pointed out, Elon is an awkward dude, as many geniuses are, and has openly admitted that he has Asperger’s syndrome, a type of autism spectrum disorder. And let’s he honest, it’s not the first time he’s been a little weird when he gets excited:

But the idea that one of the smartest, and richest, men in the world would openly make a Nazi salute at such a high-profile event is ridiculous on its face – not to mention the billionaire has been a vocal supporter of Israel and the Jewish people in the recent past:
remember, if the left is making an argument, the left is lying. Musk is not a Nazi and to assert he is should destroy any credibility the accuser may have had https://t.co/Md839W8tlQ

He also at one point claimed that he was “aspirationally Jewish,” which would be a weird thing for a Nazi to say:
Elon Musk: “I am Jew-ish. I'm aspirationally Jewish.”
Yeah guys, I don’t think he’s a Nazi.

And just a year ago, Musk toured Auschwitz concentration camp with Jewish conservative commentator Ben Shapiro:

For his part, Musk has seemed to dismiss the controversy, mocking the media and the left for accusing him of being a Nazi while themselves supporting Hamas in the war in the Middle East:
The radical leftists are really upset that they had to take time out of their busy day praising Hamas to call me a Nazi

And several prominent Jewish voices have come out in defense of Musk, including the Anti-Defamation League, an organization founded to combat antisemitism.
In a statement, the ADL called for critics to show Elon grace over the “awkward gesture.”
“This is a delicate moment. It’s a new day and yet so many are on edge. Our politics are inflamed, and social media only adds to the anxiety.
It seems that Elon Musk made an awkward gesture in a moment of enthusiasm, not a Nazi salute, but again, we appreciate that people are on edge. In this moment, all sides should give one another a bit of grace, perhaps even the benefit of the doubt, and take a breath. This is a new beginning. Let’s hope for healing and work toward unity in the months and years ahead.”

Even Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu criticized the attacks against Elon, calling him a “great friend of Israel.”
“Elon Musk is being falsely smeared. Elon is a great friend of Israel. He visited Israel after the October 7 massacre in which Hamas terrorists committed the worst atrocity against the Jewish people since the Holocaust. He has since repeatedly and forcefully supported Israel’s right to defend itself against genocidal terrorists and regimes who seek to annihilate the one and only Jewish state. I thank him for this.”

And as many have pointed out, he’s not the first political figure to make a gesture that could be interpreted as a Nazi salute:

🚨 Here’s another picture the left wants erased from the internet. A photo of MN Governor Tim Walz doing a Hitler salute while campaigning with former Vice President Kamala Harris.
They don’t want you to see this. 🔥

Not to mention, it’s the GOP that has largely supported Israel in the conflict with Palestine, which much of the left (and those calling Elon a Nazi) have openly supported Hamas, which quite literally wants to wipe the Jewish state off the map.
Yeah, the argument that Elon is a Nazi don’t make a lot of sense.
But that hasn’t stopped liberals from clinging to whatever attack they can find to use against the new administration – and it’s already cost one weather reporter her job.
In a series of Instagram posts, now-former meteorologist for CBS 58 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Sam Kuffel, repeated the smears against Elon and accused him of giving a Nazi salute:

Well apparently the posts didn’t sit well with her employer, who sent out a memo to staff yesterday alerting them that Kuffel had been let go:
“Meteorologist Sam Kuffel is no longer employed at CBS58. A search for a replacement is underway.”
Kuffel had been with the station since 2019, after graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2016.
And look, I generally don’t approve of anyone getting fired for what they post on their personal social media. Cancel culture has gone too far, and if she doesn’t like Elon Musk or agree with his politics, she should be able to say that without having to worry about losing her job.
But unfortunately, this is the society we live in right now – and time and time again, we’ve seen posts on social media get employees into trouble at work.
